Indeed it looks like crap. Seriously. Like some high school musical play. With dancing.

Teaser poster looks cool. *I shall not be deceived by coolness*

...yeah me too. The new cast does give me a headache.

Lol, worth quoting from same source :

QUOTE
When the banner picture for X-Men: First Class was released on Tuesday (it was since taken down and then re-released earlier today), it didn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence in fans of the franchise. There was something off about each of the characters and the Photoshop to put them together was absolutely miserable. You know who else hated the banner? The director of X-Men: First Class, Matthew Vaughn.

Vaughn recently got a hold of SlashFilm to express his extreme dislike of the picture, saying that he "freaked out on them yesterday" and that he doesn't "know where the hell that came from." He then reiterated that he's a fan of the series not out to make the franchise look bad, and that he's "trying to get them back to being whole again.

I don't know why I don't have a good feeling about this one. Perhaps it's the cast. We'll see...

Currently 22 reviews on RottenTomatoes, all fresh for 100% approval. biggrin.gif Undoubtedly will drop but this is a tremendous early reception. For some reason, I never liked the trailer or the cast but if the reception is great then I'm in.

Oddly movies with sark-ish trailers seem to turn out to be great movies ("Toy Story 3", "Thor" and even "Avatar" - all of which did little to make me excited). Folks are smart these days to make awesome trailers but the movie itself is horrible (e.g "Tron Legacy", "Clash of the Titans").

Whoa... the reception is very, very positive. drool.gif Once again, did not expect this.

With a strong script, stylish direction, and powerful performances from its well-rounded cast, X-Men: First Class is a welcome return to form for the franchise.

So how is it I didn't like the "ensemble" cast... sweat.gif Anyways, critics claim it is the best X-Men film ever made. Nice way to kick Summer movies.

Next to The Dark Knight, this may be one of the most perfect superhero movies.

I'm still surprised by the reception, and quite dumbfounded that it is said to be better than Bryan Singer's X1 and X2! Fingers-crossed this weekend I'll watch. I'm not even a fan of the comics but have watched all 4 movies.

Yeah, I'm sure it is the case tongue.gif I noticed that Bryan Singer produced and wrote the movie too, didn't know that. I thought he had little to no involvement in the movie.

Sadly not too sure when I'll be watching this or ever will... I'm freeing up my schedule for... "Super 8" biggrin.gif OK anyways, I loved Jennifer Lawrence in "Winter's Bone" and I believe she should do justice playing Mystique.

Can't wait. Watching this tomorrow. tongue.gif

Stupid TGV online booking charged me twice on my CC. Not the first time. Some glitch with their damn system. Booked another movie, and then X-Men secondly, but confirmation came out for first movie! blink.gif Had to do it again and then it worked.

From what I can understand, when Logan wakes up at the end of DoFP, he is in the 'future' (the corrected one) where Scott, Jean Grey and the rest are all alive and well. This renders the previous X-Men films no longer in the same 'timeline' and therefore they were just the many possibilities, but they are now considered never to have occurred in the timeline Logan wakes up to. Simple enough (if true)...

Bryan Singer did a brilliant job merging the past films and the new 'young' version of X-Men First Class. Effortlessly done.

DoFP felt 'devoid' of actual action scenes... there were, but I felt it was toned down considerably into smaller swoopingly short sequences - which is a damn good thing. The focus was more on the drama/politics & the search for the truth. DoFP has surpassed my expectations on all levels. Worth watching multiple times in my opinion.

And let's not forget the riveting performances from all the actors especially Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and the good ol' veterans. Also realize that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen barely moved a muscle and had a somewhat brief (production standpoint) time. What a brilliant way of borrowing the old actors for a few moments but make them super vital to the story. Must have been just a few days worth of filming for them. flex.gif

The post-credits scene sets up nicely for the next one.

Nice... among the answered questions - Kitty Pryde's powers, how Magneto got back his powers (hinted in X3), Rogue (we will be seeing her deleted scenes) and the differences with DoFP comics.

As for Professor X getting back his body - haha... they just wanted him back. biggrin.gif

Oh oh... I was hoping to catch it next weekend, but I might skip it

I only watched the first two trailers, hoping to get some surprises if I do watch it, but oh well, we'll see...

Different timeline now...

Xmen no longer follows the timeline of X1 to X3, Days of the Future Past alters the timeline so now it follows a new one.

It was ingenious idea. It 'bridges' all the past X-men movies, and 'neutralizes' the not so good ones (X-Men Origins Wolverine, X3).

"Days of Future Past" is my favorite X-Men film of all. I think "Apocalypse" is the ok-but-not-so-great type sequel to DoFP.

No Wolverine too icon_question.gif What's an X-Men movie without Wolverine...
