Why not just buy from those from our own lowyat forums? There's a few sellers here. I bought mine at RM1560 (paid with CC) (RM1520 Cash) and comes with 4GB card + pouch + freebies (A bloody big panasonic carrying bag).

Tried Harvey Norman in Pyramid and the salesperson so not frenly..

Felt like people are buying cameras with long warranty period so that they can sell it off later on. sleep.gif

To me, Technology are changing so fast, Its so hard for us to use something (Digicam, phone, lappy, desktop, etc) for more than 3 years. You would surely be tempted to buy a new one later on. To me, 2 years warranty is more than sufficient, and always, those long long warranty period given by big companies (Harvey Norman, Nokia, Sony, etc), they can claim that it covers this, covers that, its so easy to do it.. blablabla crap.. but when you really need to claim warranty from them, you would be cursing them so much they will crash and burn in hell once your done with the warranty claim.. lol..

I've personally experienced a lot of these warranty claims problems and until today, not one of them is really pleasant. They will tell you things like its only parts warranty, doesn't cover labour, etc. Suprisingly, those smaller shops, they can provide much better services and having a single point of contact really ease our pain in claiming warranty.

Then again, this is purely a case-to-case basis thingy as its up to individuals and whom they met when they claim their warranty. Just sharing my experience though.

Peace yo!

Just my 2 cent.

Do they sell Cameras during PC fair? I have no idea they do though, been there so many times and never notice camera booth.. Maybe I missed it..

The package (that i got) comes with the pouch, strap, battery, charger, AV cable, data cable, lens cover.

I bought with the 4GB card and also the seller gave me a panasonic carrying bag (free gift). Price was 1520 about 2 weeks ago.

Saw on the newspaper, panasonic are giving out Christmas promos with lots of freebies at all authorized sellers. Not sure what are the additional freebies though.. Guess it depends on the shops..

LX3 isn't that small also though, it's still bulky and hard to carry out since you can't put it in your pocket (Unless you have a real deep and big pocket). My Casio Exilim seems to be more portable and better for casual photo shooting. Then again, if your crazy photographer, ignore what i just said.. lol..

anyone know now whats the cheaper price for panasonic LX3?

Dude... read the thread.. It has been posted like... tons of times? Even if the price changes, it should stay around that range. Don't expect a sudden price drop of 200-300 bucks.. that is very unlikely...

Price vary based on the package offered by the seller. It's for the best u ask around different shops for the best price and best package.

Prolly it'll be better if you would tell us the budget and some extra info (expected size, particular brands you are interested in, etc) then it'll be much easier to narrow down your search and also for the guys here to advise.

Wanting something small without budget constraints would be just like telling ppl "Hey I wan a small laptop!" and you'll have ppl asking u to buy 4-5k worth ultra portable lappy.. lol...

Size wise, for me i always bring a pouch and hang it over my shoulder, you could opt for a waist pouch but it'll be quite bulky since I tried that and it's a bother to me.

Your choice of word:"Compact", you wan a small + portable cam? Don't think this cam actually fits into that category though. But then again, like what pCHO said, it differs from one individual to another on their own definition of "Small" and "Big". To me, LX3 is considered Big (Please don't compare to DSLR) and Sony T77 is considered small to me.. So.. what's your size? lol...

Also, money constraints AKA Budget (again?), and the reason for me to bring a camera with me matters. Certain times, a camera phone can capture those special moments (a baby's smile! by the time u get the cam, the baby might be crying then since my phone follows me around, my cam doesn't) I'll bring my LX3 with me when i'm travelling or for events or go shopping or dining (Some shopping malls have tons of interesting decors and products and I love food!)

Just my dua cent..

I'm using somewhat similar sized tripod and it works fine. Its a bit heavy and the build is good so it can withstand the weight of LX3 so shouldn't be a problem.
