I'm going there tomorrow. The cosplay competition is on Sunday. Going to that also but can't participate cuz not enough time.

COSPLAY COMPETITION
Event date : Sunday, 10th Aug
Time : Registration 12 noon
Stage Segment 3.30pm - 4.30pm
Prize Ceremony 6.30pm
Prizes : 1st Prize RM1000 + trophy & Animax goodie bag
2nd Prize RM 700 + trophy & Animax goodie bag
3rd Prize RM 500 + trophy & Animax goodie bag
Rules & Regulations

* Cosplay competition contestants are required to register on the event day itself.
* Cosplayers who register for the competition will be given goodie bag by Animax. Cosplayers MUST already be in full costume upon registration.
* Only cosplays of existing characters from manga, anime, game or movie series are allowed. Original characters will be disqualified.
* Please bring along a clear reference of the character you are cosplaying and attach it to the form when you register. Marks will be deducted from the final score should the cosplayer not provide reference for their characters.
* Cosplayers with music performances MUST submit their music in CD/DVD in MP3 format and pass it to the person-in-charge when they register. Please label your CD/DVD with your real name and the name of the character you are cosplaying as. AYF does not hold responsibility for any file format compatibility mishaps which might occur.
* Each contestant will be given a tag with a number upon registration. Judging will start right after the registration.
* Contestants are required to wear the tag at all times during the competition. Please wear the tag where it can clearly be seen.
* Hidden judges will move around the event area and individually judge each contestant.
* Contestants must be at the event area at the time of the competition to be judged. No excuses will be entertained should the contestants miss the judging period.
* 10 finalists will be picked by the judges and will be given 2 minutes on stage to best portray their character. Should the cosplayer not appear when their name/number is called, their place will be given to the next cosplayer.
* Finalists may ask assistance from not more than 2 other cosplayers/staff for their act.
* Costumes, props, materials, tools and any properties owned by the cosplayers are entirely of their own responsibility. The organizer will not be responsible for any damage/loss of items.
* Judges decision is final and contestants will be judged based on: -

Craftsmanship: 40%
The technical stuff; how well the costume has been made, in regards to its detail, material and overall construction as well as usage of props

Characterization: 40%
Stay true to the character you’re portraying; whether it is the posture, facial expressions or general attitude, to fully convey the representation of your character to the judges.

Creativity: 20%
You may look the part but are you able bring your character to life? Sing, dance, re-enact a scene, something! Convince the judges that they are seeing the actual anime character come right before their very eyes.

went for it ytd.... saw some monash dance crew dancing.... dancing jazz... nothing much to see

went on friday, nothing much to see.. i can say it sucks...
the booth they open are shops from 1U
only 2 things i saw really related to anime

Seems anything related to anime doesn't go well with one utama..today is the cosplay competition so finger crossed.
