The Advanced Overclocking Championship 2008 : Hong Kong (AOCC 2008) will be officially kicking off tomorrow with opening ceremony at Dragon Court, Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong

This evening I just went to visit coolice and sanko in their room at their hotel. Well, they'll be staying here for the rest of their time at Hong Kong during the competition:



When I reached, coolice was busy preparing the motherboard and sanko was lying on the bed under the blanket watching the TV with a pack of junk food

Anyway, this would be their testbed for the competition

Yeah, I already pass your regard to them and immediately sanko said, "Gaban!"

Today they'll be attending two presentation by Asus and Nvidia if I'm not mistaken. Tonight as well they got trip to "The Peak" at Hong Kong for sight-seeing

Perhaps I'll drop by Dragon Centre tomorrow after work, hopefully will bring some good result and news here . coolice complaining that it is sucks that they are not provided with Internet

Anyway guys, they were really very lucky this time... the GFX DOA on them... RAM kaputed... and more problems

P/S: Not only them unlucky, actually both Hong Kong and India also scored nothing in the competition which same as Malaysia.

Alright, first update is here. It been a busy day for me as well for my workload (I'm working in Hong Kong anyway). Been running a lot of places today and once I reached the competition spot, it already about 7.00pm which the end period of the competition.

Here it is. The place where the competition is held. Dragon Centre, Sham Shui Po



Once I reached inside, immediately I noticed that the scoreboard showing China leading by 15443 and time left 19 minutes and 29 seconds.



The place is divided into three sections of long tables for the competitors.

Sad to say, both coolice and sanko already about to give up on their bad luck as the time remaining not much...

The cups. No bra cups, but winner cups. This year they are giving up to 5th place. Really unlucky for them who took the 5th place last year at Singapore but prize only up till 3rd

I'm not really sure about what's the real case which happened since I'm not there all day long. However, according to coolice and sanko, their graphic card was DOA and they experiencing problem with one faulty RAM and PSU. Anyway, this I'll let them explain when they're back later this week

Yup, they did changed a few items. If I'm not mistaken GPU, RAM and PSU. Well, again in details and actual situation I'll leave it to them to update

If I'm not mistaken, it was given on the very first day (if not, the second day) they arrived at Hong Kong. They were allowed to play with the hardware in their room. coolice and sanko told me that they could hit 5.2 or 5.3 with dry ice, so actually they got pretty good confident for the competition. sanko in the other way had spend sleepless nights doing overclocking experiment, did you guys noticed his eyes bag?

Well, just that their luck screwed up on the competition day and couldn't provide any result at all.

Luck is an important attribute as well. We can't just make such conclusion that it is biased.

Here's the hardware configuration:

All contestants are allowed to change each of their hardware once. More than once will be consider disqualified. When they received the hardware earlier, they're suppose to test if their hardware is fine and then sign on an agreement that they received this this this hardware, this this this serial number... in good condition

Again, luck is an important attribute



P/S: I am not a very good overclocker myself. So I only understand partially the terms mentioned by both coolice and sanko. If you all would like to know in details and the actual case, perhaps we wait for them to return from Hong Kong first

All in all, they went there and participated. Even thou couldn't produce any result, yet they've learned something and admitted their defeat. So lets hope the better result to come soon.

We need to put another thing into consideration. Our duo coolice and sanko didn't get enough resources, contributors or sponsors to provide them the necessary parts to let them do testing. It is the hardest way they took, isn't?

Anyhow, experience gained and we shall be better for the next one

Give them a break please... they had sleepless nights doing preparation before the competition... they're human too, just like us.

If I'm not mistaken, suppose this competition to be held in Malaysia this time. However, Asus Malaysia rejected it. Don't ask me regarding the source please, it may not be the actual case.

Hahaha... told you that it is the last piece of t-shirt for the event . Surprisingly the quality pretty good, like those "dri-fit" t-shirt.

Well, it is coolice and sanko that in the competition. I just kepoh-kepoh kacau-kacau only since I'm temporarily posted to work in Hong Kong . In a way, I really hope I didn't bothered them during their days in Hong Kong

Hahaha... I chatted with you and the MC on the 1st day after the group photos. We're discussing about Lan Kwai Fong and then where to buy some stuff to bring back to Malaysia

After the AOCC2008 ended... other contestants from other countries could proudly steal the camera and tell that they're from which country and which forum while doing some "show" to the crowd and video. I recorded some of it actually, especially that dude from Sweden chilling his mouth with the LN2
