do you know where can I download update file for the xbox 360 so that it can play .mov hd files..I don't have xbox live connection so I have to burn it to a cd before updating my console..how do I check my system version in xbox 360?..how do I know if the fall 2007 update is installed on the console?..I bought my xbox in may 08..when I try to play the .mov file,it states that an update is needed to play the file..any ideas guys?

er... Since when Xbox 360 can play quicktime .mov file ?

beside, what you do you mean you have to burn the update ? the update can only be obtain by online right ? they don't sell those "update disc" in the market thought...


unless you are refering "Burn your own game with updatE"?

you can download the DASHBOARD update from here: Xbox.com
and then burn to cd/dvd.

but to get the MEDIA FORMAT update, you can only get it by downloading online.
not so sure can play .mov format tho.

maybe he quote u because earlier u said that the update can be obtained only online.

Quicktime .mov files supported provided it is encoded with H.264.

H.264 format wor... mostly all .mov file are not encoded with H. 264... unless you encode them yourself lo.
