it seems that DiGi users with official unlocked iPhones can now download a new updated carrier settings file.. i used the carrier settings from this page and was not offered to download when i plug my iPhone to iTunes..
anyone else seeing this behaviour? --- EDIT: OK, I managed to get myself a copy after the painstaking task of having to restore my iPhone so that the carrier settings gets removed.. DiGi's IPCC profile doesn't seem to show the APN settings, but I managed to hack around the bundle and came up with this new version (as attached) - I tried putting the logo in, but it doesn't seem to work.. Bluetooth tethering worked perfectly on both my MacBook Pro and Mac mini.. USB tethering worked on the Mac mini only and not my MacBook Pro - that's because the Mac mini was not enabled with 64-bit kernel (Apple said we Mac mini owners cannot run 64-bit SL!!).. more info on 64-bit and iPhone USB here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...8547&tstart=195 Can't wait to test the speed out in 3G area.. NOTE: The only changes I made to the bundles are adding 3 flags that allows changing of cellular data APN, mms APN and mmsc server settings.. not sure how this is going to be useful.. but REMEMBER: Apple now signs the IPCC bundles.. so if you change any of the cellular data APN, mms APN and MMSC server settings, be sure to change them back to its original if you intend use your iPhone for tethering.. otherwise, your tethering settings will be removed automagically from the phone when you try to tether using the modified settings.. if that happens, just reinstall the IPCC bundle.. QUOTE(xpresside @ Mar 23 2010, 10:06 PM) Yeah, I meant APN sorry...I followed the guide listed here, now i can go to cellular data network > changed apn/username/password to blablabla after i off wifi and try to use safari, it uses Edge again... using Maxis here.. something caught my eye.. the guide says.. QUOTE 'For Maxis Users: If all of the above suggestion fails, you need to insert a non maxis simcard and then set the APN with some gebberish words and then swap back your simcard. Your internet connection should fail to connect.' in this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/868281 maybe this is why i still can use edge after doing all that? have someone tried that before? my whole family is using maxis so i cannot try immediately... I set everything according to the guide, i'm maxis user so i put in friend's Digi sim card, set APN to gibberish, then put in Celcom sim card, set APN to gibberish, then when i swap back to my maxis sim card, the apn auto reset back to the correct maxis apn! O_O
i changed the apn to gibberish again, open safari.. still able to surf net. Heeeeeeeelllpppp~~~~! using 3.1.3... is it because this trick doesn't work with 3.1.3? This post has been edited by iori57: Mar 26 2010, 01:44 AM |

Some Digi users have said that after updating their carrier profile, they can now do tethering; I don't see such an option when connecting to iTunes. Is it because I used one of the ipcc files on the first page? How do I get the official carrier settings so that I can tether?

I still can't get tethering to work on Digi... They seem unwilling to help me out. I contacted them on their Facebook page and they said they don't know what's wrong...
