ok my problem is this. i am using windows vista and and is on iTunes 8.2.1.6.
when i click on SHIFT + Update button (in iTunes screen), i only see a windows explorer form allowing me to specify *.ipsw files. no *.ipcc file option. i do not know what went wrong here. appreciate it if someone can lead me to the correct way of doing it? i assume the phone does not need to be jail-breaked in order to be able to do this right? thanks in advance. |

copy and paste the line to your windows cmd prompt. attempting to re-type as I did, resulted in using the wrong keys...

QUOTE(giggs_509 @ Aug 5 2009, 04:29 PM) if non jailbreak iphone 3g can use bosspref? mine also already spend rm80 for data. damn the wifi change to 3g/edge when wifi signal is weak.. just switch off ur 3G connection via Network settings..but i'm not sure if that's effective since it will go to EDGE mode and hence data charges will occur using EDGE connection..the best is still bosspref. |

need help here. I have updated iPhone_3.0_Maxis_my.ipcc.zip to both iPhone 3G & iPhone 3GS. iPhone 3G works fine but 3GS is not able to access to cellular data network, MMS also doesn't work. Changed to latest maxis SIM not long ago. appreciate if you could give some help here. thx again

Just a note, at first my didn't work and I bring it back to Maxis Centre. The trick is easy, make sure you have already activated your 3G (*136# for Maxis user).
After you load the .ipcc file into your iPhone, restart your phone, or preferably take out and put in your SIM card again. Mine work with this method, also, unet and net will be affected by 3G activation. |

Does that means that for Iphone 2G using 3G simcard, we need to activate 3G before MMS can work? I'm using 2G with 3G maxis sim card by the way.. thanks

Nop, 2G simcards can run on Edge, and MMS can work on Edge as well, not only 3G. 3G will be faster when fetching data =)
