the Bullseye at rhapsody in Mid Valley is sooooooooooooo fake.

It has the styling of the Gibson (the color and Pickup Selector cover), but with an Epiphone headstock and EMG-HZ pickups......

if you're really evil, you can report the fake bullseye to sweelee and rhapsody will lose their gibson/epiphone dealership.

my friends once buy guitar from bentley
because my friends so noob about guitar
bentley stuff kencing him
they give him guitar with a broken pickup
when middle one selected,no sound produce
my friends tot it suppose to be like that
after a while, i went to his home
and told him after testing his guitar
my point here is that some shop really tipu their costumer because some of them really noob
so they like taking advantages

because nobody will believe an ~rm2k gibson lespaul (instantly people will suspect if u put that price range tongue.gif). So, ~rm2k epiphone (fake) is more believeable. laugh.gif

I saw the guitar too at that shop. Did the epi les paul standard ever come in goldtop? And that guitar had "les paul standard" on the truss rod cover.

Any other shops selling fake "branded" guitars? Do let the rest know k.

Btw, "fake" and "copy" are 2 different things. Fake is like some piece of junk with a Gibson/Epi logo. Copy's are those brands that are based-on a famous brand or model.

Let's not spoil the reputation of shops selling "copies" as opposed to "fakes." smile.gif

Yeap..too many indeed. I recently returned my fake epiphone acoustic guitar to Chambers Music in exchange of a handmade guitar (very good guitar). Few things that need to be examined;
-Model of guitar
-Serial number of product
-Quality

just wondering, you realised that its a fake AFTER purchasing it right?

did the shop just exchange it without any fuss? or were they reluctant to do so?

They're overpriced and they don't like people testing the guitars.

You can't even test the guitar with a pick.

Yeap, but I decided to splurge a little bit more money to get something better, and it was a solid top one biggrin.gif
Changed without a fuss indeed. I myself wanted to find something better since it was the most expensive one around that range. rclxm9.gif

Yeap, they aim for people who look like got a lot of money. I hate the short indian guy there. He act so lan si and he thinks he knows everything. They let you try for 10 seconds then that's it. Price wise, they simply naik more expensive. And you know for sure that it's very unreasonable, considering the kind of models they have. Stupid shop.

Yeah, the dreadlock dude is awesome. And you know, Aru (I think) from Koffin Kanser also working there. But urmm..their prices are the greatest flaw. Compared to bentley and all, some are RM20-40 more expensive. And get this bro, the guy I mentioned about was being dumb. He was explaining to a customer about this Ibanez GIO, the H-S-H one.
Then he said,"Okay, if you select bridge pickup, you play hot leads and really crunchy metal. If you select the neck humbucker, you can play jazz".

I mean like..WTH? Neck Humbucker for Jazz? Mana ada? HAHAHAHA..semi-hollow body wei..mana ada solid body punya?

lp-100 is around RM1.2k retail. but i'm not sure how much is bringing them in now.
true true, their price is abit over, coz they take stocks from bentley tongue.gif

think there's a blog post on google on identifying fake/vs original epis. Apparently Epi follows some standard measurements (distance of tone knobs to bridge, distance of logo from the headstock edges, etc.) that imitations lack. They have the same look, but the measurements aren't consistent with the original epis.
