@omisa : get it only if its around RM600. 'cause good condition full sets are only around RM700+ nowadays. reviews? best bang-for-the-buck Symbian UIQ3 smartphone.

apply Sound Mod Full v1.1 then SuperSound FINAL by dongxanh. SuperSound has a patch file which will solve the speakerphone problem. it's the latest version & the sound quality has actually improved a lot.

yeah. you have to fine tune the settings abit by editing the file with notepad.

you might have misplaced certain files or didn't copy all of them as required. try to check again. it's normal since there are so many files involved. me myself was really blurred too when moving/copying.

seriously 5800 Tube is really tempting, given the price & specs, i bet it'll be the next best-bang-for-the-buck phone after P1i. i've yet to test it myself but the reviews & photos are enough to poison me. (abit off topic )

anyway, i'll bid farewell to P1i very soon too. nonetheless, it's been such a great phone, frankly the best one i ever used so far.

@fruitie : yeah. 'cause i've got a good bargain on an iPhone 3G. the price is too tempting if not would still keep my good ol' P1i. but i'll still lepak at this thread like usual. it's just like my alma-mater. much like the ex-M600i/P990i thread.

@Lineage : actually AP sets are are unusually higher than original sets for this model. original is around RM13XX while AP ones are RM1.4K above, based on what some users have surveyed. the affordable price and nice specs are what created the craze over it.

this 5800 can even made other phone users like us keep talking about it, proven its hype.

haha. i would not wanna comment on its quality yet since i haven't got my hands on one but what i can say is it's currently the most affordable phone ever made by Nokia so far. Nokia usually price their models based on their specs, and based on 5800's specs, it's definitely well above the current market price of RM13XX. (heck, RM13XX is even for original sets. )

but who knows, based on the worsening economic condition, that's how Nokia tried to boost their sales. maybe SE should try to follow their business strategy.

urm..it still depends on models i think. some N series is definitely more expensive. take N95 8GB, N96 for example. X1 is SE's top of the line model but it's based on WinMo which is a totally a different category from Nokia's focus on Symbian.

but it all boils down to each users' preferences. i'm definitely okay with all the brands. will choose one which best suits my budget with the specs i'm looking for.

@Elvinyew: haha. don't call me tai ko lah. i'm just an ordinary P1i user. still learning too. selling it for slightly above market price for used sets since mine is still in very good outlook condition.

@fruitie: i did the Camera Mod by dongxanh and i don't actually see any much difference in terms of quality actually.

anyway huys, i really missed those hard keys QWERTY on my P1i. current phone's touch screen QWERTY is abit odd to me. 'coz been using keypad/hard keys keyboard since i start using a mobile phone.

my thumbs seem to be too big for iPhone's QWERTY. keep getting the wrong keys. anyways, remember that practice makes perfect.

yeah. it uses static electricity from you fingers. actually my thumb is quite big & i can use it comfortably now. just need some time to get use to it.

what problem do you mean? IMO, P1i is the one of the best phones i've ever used.

i sold mine 2 weeks back for only RM750. like new + 1 year warranty left somemore. should have sell it at a higher price.

it's due to the lack of development in its platform, softwares and also lack of interest and popularity among users out there. too bad huh? but i think Symbian has a bright future still. just look at what Nokia have done with its full touch-based 5800 XpressMusic. hopefully SE will be able to keep up.

the sim card symbol indicates that those messages are from your sim. should be no problem deleting it. don't think it's a side effect from modding.
