hey all - just wanna share my recent purchased .. wanna see if there's anything i can do to speed things up

1. Bought a WD live book duo (6tb)
2. Connected to a router ( Unifi router - the one came with the package )
3. Trying to transfer data over WIFI ( wireless )
4. Speed im getting max is 2.40 to 2.58 MB/s ( this is using the normal windows copy and paste transfer )
5. External HDD connected to laptop ( s7 ) through USB 3.0. External HDD is 2.0
6. When i connected the external HDD to the live book directly using the usb 2.0 port at the back, the speed is lower than 1MB/s

Question:
1. How to speed up the process of transferring data to the Live book duo?
2. I have another 1 TB external HDD - with the current rate , i think it will take 1 week to transfer everything smile.gif

Thanks in advance ....

Try another computer..

For router, I think that's the best speed you can get.. Limitation on route cpu usually.

thanks - i've connected directly with cable getting up 10 11MB/s.... wireless is killing it but it will do for now.... Still go another 1 TB to transfer... dont know how long that will take.

You can get better speed if connected to gigabit switch.

sorry - so what you are saying - connect the router( TM's orange color ) to a gigabit switch to get a better wired connection?
