What's the best solution to plug a PC, 360 and PS3 to a Dell 2407?

Currently I'm set up with:

360 - VGA
PC and PS3 - DVI

Problem is I hate reaching to the back of the monitor to exchange DVI cables all the time.

I initially thought I'll just buy a KVM switch and use it for the 360 and PC (through VGA) and leave the PS3 DVI where it is, but a little searching in the forums revealed that the image quality is poor.

Any suggestions from anybody will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Please refrain from solutions involving me to buy another LCD monitor/TV

edit: BTW, image quality through component on the 2407 is piss poor, so forget about that.

what I'm doing now with my Samsung 2253BW is VGA for PC and Xbox 360, and DVI for PS3.

use one of those gender converters so that instead of reaching behind your monitor, you just have to reach behind your computer, unplug the cable and plug it into the Xbox 360's VGA cable easily.

hey, it's not the best solution given the circumstances, but it sure beats having to reach behind the monitor all the time, what with the inputs being in an awkward position and all.

was about to suggest component for the Xbox 360 but you said it was poor so yeah.

hope this small input helps smile.gif

my suggestion:

well, if your 360 is the newer model that supports HDMI, its better to switch the PC back to VGA and use the DVI for ps3/360. cos the HDMI connector is the easiest to plug and play. and u only play 1 console at a time.

but i think u have the older 360 model (like me sad.gif )

do u think a DVI switch will have better IQ than the usual KVM?

@ nerd

that's a sweet cost effective solution. I never thought of that. Cheers.

HDMI to DVI cables are easily available in game shops and AV stores. You can even get them at Ace Hardware.

Price ranges from RM50 - RM90. My advice is to just get the cheapest, digital cables are digital cables.
