I just bought an LG unit yesterday before I read this thread. Oh man, I didn't know an LG model is problematic. It was quite cheap for a 1.5HP model, so I took it. Hopefully not much problems. *sigh*

QUOTE(Greenfingers @ Sep 5 2010, 04:04 PM) Hi The Panasonic one is quite overpriced. Here in Sarawak it's RM950 including installation. Promo from Panasonic. You may want to try asking from a Panashop coz they are having a promotion currently.I got the air cond price quotations inclusive of installation of RM 130 (excluding aircon point of RM 75) from an electrical shop as follows: Mitsubishi FF10 (non inverter) RM1,210 Panasonic C-9kkh (non inverter)RM 1,130 May I ask your opinion whether the prices are good and also between the two, which one is better? I was advised to pay a deposit of RM 100 by today to secure the above prices. |

QUOTE(Drian @ Sep 6 2010, 01:06 PM) Just a question, how long can aircond piping be? Forthe living room I don't like the outdoor compressor to be visible on the car porch so i thought i put it at the backyard instead. However i think the distance quite far away, so I was wondering whether thereare any limit for it. The shorter the better. Cooling efficiency is reduced the longer the piping. |

QUOTE(omels @ Sep 24 2010, 09:13 PM) i wanna buy cheap but good quality aircond....hehe.... I'm using the 1.5HP one. So far so good. No problems. One annoyance, it has two fan speed settings only, high and low. At low, it is very quiet.quoted from elctrical shop USJ Taipan: LG 1HP Aircond: RM880 LG 1.5HP Aircond :RM 1050 I think this the best price so far... The CHEAPEST is PENSONIC.....1HP RM550 only...new, but i m not willing to take risk... |

Guys, any first hand experiences with Gree air conditioner? I know it's a China brand, but apparently they're the largest air cond manufacturer in the world. They can easily achieve this since China market is very large. I do notice more Gree outdoor units now when I go around.

I once checked into a hotel which uses an Akira air con, rated at 10000 BTU. It was surprisingly very cold! I was so impressed that I am now considering Akira as my next air con.
