Hi,

I am also considering this model with another few models for 1HP and 1.5HP. How much are you quoted?

Legend from Seri Petaling recommended RAS-S10CY because they said air con with bigger BTU saves more energy than inverter because it cools down the room faster. Inverter only works well if it is turned on for more than 8 hours. The price for RAS-S10CY is as expensive as the inverter model in fact.

Anyone using it right now?

That is $$$. I was quoted 1200 including installation. Probably you can visit Legend in Seri Petaling. The 1.5HP is RM1580.

My experience .....  most cost effective in terms of elctricity consumption is Hitachi DC Invertor series so far
*
But Hitachi DC Invertor needs larger copper pipping and wiring as well right? It is the same as Panasonic. So far, I think only Daikin inverter is still using the normal pipping. Anyone know how cost effective is the Daikin Inverter?

I am now considering between the Daikin Inverter model and Hitachi RAS-S10CY model (has bigger BTU, cooling the room faster, hence more cost effective??). Anyone install both the model before brows.gif

CFC is R11 and R12
HCFC is R22
HFC is R410A and R134A

HCFC has been used as an intermittent solution towards ozone depletion prevention. It contains Chlorine still harms the ozone but not as much as CFC. HFC is totally ozone friendly. However it is a greenhouse gas and the global warming potential is higher than R744. I can't wait to see R744 products appearing for air conditioning in Malaysia. R410A is already a trouble here since many installers and suppliers are not willing to deal with them due to increased costs. Many technicians also don't know how to handle R410A. It has to be handled differently from R22. The transition period can be further delayed due to costs concerns.

FYI, R744 is Carbon Dioxide.

Just an observation, I have seen many aircon technicians releasing R22 and R12 into the air. Now this is illegal by law but people just don't care. I'm very disappointed with these technicians. Sometimes I told them but they would tell me off as if I know nothing about aircon refrigerants.

No this is not a good price. It is FAR TOO CHEAP. I find them suspicious. They only earn like RM100 to sell you the system and install for you I believe.

I installed mine FTKD35 + RKD35 series (1.5HP class inverter system) for RM1.9k. This includes the following:
-Vacuum Refrigerant Lines with a Vacuum Pump
Vacuum Pump looks like this http://www.pumps-manufacturer.com/products...umPump_7705.jpg
-Bend copper tubbings properly using a pipe bender
Pipe bender looks like this http://www.tradecounterdirect.com/prodimag...vy-pipe-ben.jpg
-Stainless Steel Brackets
-PVC Trunking for the copper tubings and pipes plus wires
-System check
-Never save on things like downsizing the pipes, thinner cables etc.
The previous cheapo installer did that sad.gif
-My piping length is 22 feet.

The cost of the equipment is RM 1.5k. Cost of installation is RM400.

You can check out the following contractor I have sourced from Daikin:
HVAC Engineering Sdn Bhd
Add  : No 238-A (1st Floor), Jalan Jelutong, 11600 Penang.
P.I.C : Chiang Boon Huat
Tel  : +604 2811 325

Installation fees is RM400!!! That is very expensive but looking at the tasks that you have listed make sense as well. However, for my case, I have done all the conceal piping. They will need to install the air-con probably check the piping with a vacumm pump.

However, thank you for your information, I will take note.

Buying aircon not judge by the price. You need to measure your room and get the correct HP. If your aircon cannot cool down your room because of under power, don't blame on the brand. Most of the people don't consider this. End up, not cool and electrical consumption high.

RM400 not high lor. My aircon installation cost me rm700. Installation consist of.
1) conseal all the wiring and piping. No ugly pipng and wiring hanging around.
2) Outdoor unit must place at the water tank area which is ontop of my house. So extra long piping and work.
Took him whole day to install and next day to plaster the wall. I think the installer angry with me. Cause I don't want follow his way. He....

Electrical thing is not easy to fried by lightning. Unless direct strike. But not electronic thing which is more sensitive. A good grounding will reduce this problem.

Teach you a way that you can insure your equipment event without warranty or warranty expired. Get a Belkin surge protector. But makesure don't overload it. Belkin sp come with equipment insurance from RM5000 to RM20000. If your thing get fried, and belkin sp cannot protect, go and claim from them. Maybe you are lucky to get a LCD tv when your old crt TV get fried. thumbup.gif

For my case, 1HP is for the masterbedroom and 1.5HP for the living room. My unit is very small, so should be sufficient.

Hmmm, cause normally I see the installation fees range from RM150 - RM250 excluding conceal piping of course. (Meaning compressor and the unit installation only.) I am not sure the bracket is included or not.

where do you your Mitsubishi units? is the 1.3k for 1.5hp unit inclusive of installation charge?
*
I was being introduced to purchase the new Mitsubishi Deluxe range SRK-10CIV-4 model 1HP. It costs me RM1370 including installation.

According to the specification, the input watt for this air-con is 730 watt per hour which is about the same as Daikin Inverter 1HP and the BTU of this air con is larger than Daikin. Hence I took the 1HP model. For living room, I took the 1.5HP Daikin Inverter since it is cheaper than Mitsubishi 1.5HP by about RM250.

Do anyone here know how much is the Daikin inverter 1.0HP and 1.5 HP (incl. installation) price. Can post here or PM me?

I was quoted RM1300 and RM1530 respectively from Weng Ho Electrical Shop in Serdang. I ended up bought a Mitsubishi Deluxe type model for 1HP and Daikin Inverter 1.5HP. According to the specification, Mitsubishi aircon is slightly efficient than Daikin if compared the BTU and input watt required.
