Just bought 3 aircons non-inverter Acson 1hp, York 1.5hp, Acson 2.0hp
All for RM3800 include installations.
York and Acson exactly the same manufacturer.
For inverter, better to get Daikin as it can use the piping same as non-inverter.

For more accurate calculation, pls used btu instead of hp. http://www.csgnetwork.com/acroomsizecalc.htmlFor inverter, i think better to get Daikin but currently i'm using York and Acson non-inverter.

Daikin inverter can used back conventional piping and coolant from what i heard, hence installation is cheaper and when u change aircon next time, u can change to non-inverter type

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Sep 14 2010, 12:45 AM) Wanna ask the sifu sifu here, my condo comes with concealed piping (both copper and also the pvc) from indoor to outdoor unit. However the location is not so nice and I wish to extend it to somewhere else. The air-con installer told me its not advisable to extending the piping as he will have to bridge the current pipe to a new pipe, so there's a chance that the gas will leak. Furthermore, it seems he is only able to extend it for a few more feet only. Is this true? What's the price for York A/C nowadays? So far I manage to find 780 for 1HP, 1040 for 1.5HP and 1770 for 2.0HP. All are the G models without those Ionizer and Inverter thingy without installation. If the aircon got problem usually I ask back the shop or the York Service ppl ah? edit: sorry typo for 1.5HP. should be 1040, not 1440. I bought 1HP(Acson), 1.5HP(York), 2HP(Acson), all for RM3800 include piping (not conceal). Basically Acson and York are same, but Acson is cheaper a bit.
