Hi, I would to install a 1 hp or smaller a/c but have no intention to lay a 15A outlet. Any aircon to recommend? (on an ordinary 13A socket) Thanks a million..

Any new generation 1 HP split unit aircon can be connected safely to the 13A (provided it is not shared with heavy appliances like Oven, heater, etc)

Thx, Kelvyn.

I would not share it with other appliances but I won't know if this particular outlet is tapped from other outlets or directly from DB.

Anyway, I will choose one with lowest starting amp, Panasonic seems to have one with 3.6A.

Daikin FT25DVM/R25DV1 running current = 3.94/4.25....I suppose 4.25A is the starting current hence should be fine to use on 13A supply. BTW, this is a non-inverter type. Why I choose non-inverter? Coz I am using the 1hp a/c in my living room (oversized). I don't think the compressor will have the chance to have breaks. So inverter doesn't serve any purpose...

i think inclusive installation is ok d, if not mistaken those units is rm1380 1hp and 1780 for 1.5hp before intallation. what do you all think about sharp inverter, rm1440 1.5hp each before intallation? thanks

so paid RM478 for the lousy installation coz the worker swapped the outdoor unit unknowingly. I suspected some gas/pressure loss after they swapped them back....the whole house was like a construction site after the installation. Tiiu.

The consolating part is - the new Mitsu aircons are super quiet...
