QUOTE(kimsim @ Sep 15 2013, 01:35 PM) today i wanna share my tip hereĀ my aircond after installed and already up to 3 yrs of usage everyday still look new of internal coil. Where can get these filters and how much ? I noticed that your AC is wide and long model, how long and how wide the blower fan as compare to the standard model? I'm planning to install one 2.5hp in the living/dining area. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Sep 15 2013, 02:19 PM

QUOTE(Dage @ Sep 17 2013, 10:02 PM) who say air con price is increasing? The sales man? reliable source? cos i hear the same thing everytime i go to a fair.. This time is for real. In case you are not aware of ringgit depreciation against USD and renminbi. In jun, ringgit was rm3 to usd1. Now rm3.30 to usd1. Up 10%. Mitsubishi AC are imported from Thailand and traded in USD. In jun importer paid rm2k, now have to pay rm2.2k for the same USD. Renminbi was 49sen in jun and now 55 sen for 1 renminbi. Almost every thing we use are made in China.

QUOTE(kimsim @ Oct 3 2013, 10:00 AM) Common non inverter for 3 + 3 wire enough. In & out to outdoor. For inverter type need 4 + 4 in & out also. But the main power supplied at outdoor unit. For non inverter can be tap at indoor fancoil to power supply only. I plan to install Mitsubishi E24 2.5hp non inverter in the living area. Installation is back to back and cabling and piping for the out door unit no need conceal. I need to pull a conceal direct wiring from the DB to the indoor unit. Does how many wires matters ??

QUOTE(sovietmah @ Oct 3 2013, 04:29 PM) Still depends on length. my contractor charge me 2.5HP inverter copper pipe and water pipe outlet, conceal, bout 15-20 feet (from living room middle till first floor car porch roof there). Not include wiring of course. Your wiring for the 2.5HP is normal power point wiring direct from DB to a 20A switch and the indoor unit ? Do we need special wiring for 2.5HP ?

I was told by a electrical shop owner that the proper wire standard for 2.5hp aircond is 4mm wire. MCB can use 20A or 30A.

Just stalled Mitsubishi E24 2.5ho non inverter to my living area today. Boy, both outdoor and indoor unit are so bulky and big. Very powerful cooling power. Can cool down the entire ground floor ie living, dining and kitchen.

QUOTE(kimsim @ Oct 13 2013, 08:44 AM) Yes. The "Wide & Long" airflow feature is really good for big living and dinning area. I can feel the airflow at dining area about 25ft away from indoor unit. It's brochure says the airflow can reach 12m.

My aircond installer told me that only thru heavy usage of inverter aircond can achieve saving in electricity bill as compare to non inverter. However, heavy usage also means more frequent maintenance and the maintenance for inverter is more expensive than non inverter. It may take years for the saving in electricity to off-set the initial premium price, extra installation cost + extra maintenance cost. He said he would only recommend inverter aircond to customer who use more than 12 hours every day.

QUOTE(Ryan Soo @ Oct 16 2013, 01:22 AM) i m looking for aircond that can swing(left-right and right-left) to at least 140 degree.. reason is i m currently using panasonic inverter, and i can't feel the air if i sit more towards the right side(use laptop)...no matter how it swing, it cover only 90 degree(estimate)... any aircond unit can "cover more area"? This Mitsubishi E24 can control up-down and left-right swing.

QUOTE(Ryan Soo @ Oct 16 2013, 11:36 AM) thanks i might research more on this.. are you using this aircond too in your room? any comment? It is a 2.5hp and use it in the Living/Dining area. Quiet but powerful cooling. Only think I dislike is the form factor....too big. The blower is 1.1m in length 1hp model is smaller.

QUOTE(petlu28 @ Oct 16 2013, 01:19 PM) My contractor quote me conceal price 1HP Inverter RM400 11 feet piping & 2HP Inverter RM500 11 feet piping. Then installation 1HP Inverter RM350 & 2HP Inverter RM500. It is reasonable? I think it is not reasonable. The conceal price already include the copper pipe and waste water pipe, how come the aircond installation still charge at RM350 ?? Normal back to back standard installation ( no conceal) for 1 HP is RM150 with 10ft copper pipe. Additional length at RM10 per foot run.

QUOTE(brendon1980 @ Nov 19 2013, 01:44 PM) Guys, Need some serious help here pertaining to the aircon units. I am having some headaches deciding the units typically the HP requirements for my house especially the Ground Floor common area due to having a double volume ceiling clearance about 6.7m after finishing. Base on BTU calculations, I deduce roughly require more than 70000BTU??!! The issue here is base on which ceiling level should I input to deduce? For the rest of the ceiling height is roughly 2.8 - 3m finishing. I have attached the floor plan with aircon location and HP indicated. Can anyone advise if the aircon unit(s) proposed HP is sufficient to provide for the house base on experience? Thanks a million. Rgds, Brendon Cool air will stay at the bottom, just instal the blower about 3m height on the wall. I think your 1.5hp for a small room and 6.5hp for living and dining is over killed. You want to cool the air above 3m too ?
