im not very sure if i could give u an answer, but i just wanna say, its not as simple as calculating the total area and then decide how many hp.
some times it depends on the airflow of your rooms...i have a friend who installed a 2HP aircond, but then it couldnt even keep the entire living+dining area cold (he's living in a townhouse). direction of aircond blowing is important as well. |

air-cond should remain as air-cond. get an air-cond that cools the room well...and get a air filter that filters smoke well.
get something in between, and at the end both dont do its job well...spells REGRET. just me 2 cents, coming from personal experience |

ok its been about 2 weeks since i moved into my new place... and 1 of my airconds is blowing quite loud, and another isnt cold already.
could this be due to aircond problem, or installation issues? cos i wasnt very confident with my installer when he installed my airconds at 1st... i regretted not getting the person i bought from to install my airconds >_< |
