Don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but does anyone know how to get to the fan thingy inside a Sharp AHXP13LV? I can open the front cover but I still can't get access to the fan bit inside to clean it. It's kinda dusty in there and very hard to reach and clean out. I don't want to necessarily call a serviceman for something I can do on my end without getting ripped off for just that little thing.
PS - sorry if this is the wrong place - if so can someone kindly tell me where the appropriate area is to ask this, thank you.

QUOTE(NINJIAO @ May 23 2012, 04:25 PM) you mean you wan to take out the whole fanblade out to clean?? if you manage to open up the casing and at least have some exposure of the fan blade(i mean from 1 end to the other have no obstacle) , then just take your vacuum cleaner and brush and vacuum all the dirt out of the fan blades. then buy those aircon coil cleaner and spray spray on ur coil and take a brush to brush it. then spray more. Just did mine last week. before diy clean i have to put 22 celcius. After clean, i put 25 celcius and still colder than before i clean it. heheheĀ but must do very carefully. Dont spoilt ur fan blade/fin. once 1 of the fin broke then u will be in trouble. it will be very noisy becos not balance liao. I've actually been cleaning the fan blade in the most unconventional way but it's not as good as I have wanted it to be so I'm just going to use a pressure spray into it (just the simple 2L bottle type to loosen dirt on the blades). As for the coils I have no problems cleaning those, gotta beware of some of the foamy type of coil cleaners though because I heard some end up rusting the coils. I've been trying to avoid buying the aircon cleaner sprays but I guess I'll get some soon as well hehe. An actual pressure washer/pressure steamer works quite well (if you don't go overboard of course and have big bags below to catch all the water) in fact just a tiny bit of pressure is needed if anything. I'm not doing that though because mine is broken and it was a bit too powerful + I can imagine the mess I would make Thanks for the advice btw! I tried the vacuum thing before with a toothbrush but it was really backbreaking and didn't get all of the harder dust lol. My fan blade is blocked mostly by the fins and the air flow plastic bar which I cannot remove so it's quite hard. This post has been edited by Salamander: Jun 3 2012, 11:12 AM
