My new condo is using concrete wall and no hacking allow :S
Btw, any recommendation for energy saving air con?
1 for living room(1.5hp or 2hp), 1 master bedroom(1hp), 1 bed room(1hp)-optional All adjacent.
Is it advisable to get multi split system? Since normally I will use at most 2 at the same time.

I've just bought myself 4 MHI (Deluxe series) air-conds. 3 SRK10 and 1 SRK19.... Hopefully it's the right decision. Sales person claimed the SRK19 (2HP) can blow up to 18meters away.

How much you bought? Both non-inverter right?

The most basic air-cond Midea brand 1.5HP was selling at RM799 in today's Modern Furniture fair at MidValley (not including installation).

Any minimum space/height needed between the air cond to the ceiling?
After plaster ceiling, I only left 14" for the air cond and curtain rail/track.
Any idea which air cond has the shortest height?
So far I only found Daikin one is shorter as compare to Mitsubishi Electric and Heavy Industries.

If u put ur ac very very near to ur ceiling, the air circulation will not be good...as the air intake is located up there..... nowadays ac no more air intake from front panel...but i notice many people didn't know this and their ac often cools down slower...some even hide half of their ac into the plaster ceiling...

Thanks for the info. Really regret didn't consider about this before making the plaster ceiling.
Really no more air cond take intake from front? Or any idea which is the shortest one?
After checking out most major brands, the shortest I found is Daikin and Midea, 29cm height for a 2.0HP air cond.

Yes, 3 wires from indoor to outdoor unit, non inverter type.
The problem now is my aircon is Mitsubishi Mr Slim, contractor said not able to install due to the wires not enough.
He said at least need 5 wires to install my aircond. I was like  vmad.gif ...
Is this true??
*
Looking at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries catalog for non-inverter now, it stated:

Connecting wiring
1.0 and 1.5 HP requires 1.5mm2 x 3 cores (including earth cable)
2.0 and 2.5Hp requires 1.5mm x 4 cores (including earth cable)

I am not sure whether the cores means the number of cables required.

Added on August 7, 2012, 10:18 pmEh, sorry, yours is Mitsubishi Electric Mr. Slim, not Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Lucky I haven't buy air cond. Similar case with you, I guess I have to settle with 1.5HP as for now. Might not be enough for a condo living room + dining. Perhaps add another portable air cond next time.

Anyone have the latest pricing for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Deluxe 1.0HP and 1.5HP?
