Daikin DC Inverter aircon, according to their advert they are using normal piping.. anyone using them?
*
normally AC are using 1/4" and 3/8" copper piping. there are two type of thickness for both. which ic 0.51mm & 0.56mm

typically, MOST installer will choose 0.51 due to its cost. I do believe developer will choose this compared to latter one. York has manufactured Inverter for quite sometime. but it used R22 gas which is known as NeoVerter(singlesplit) & Transverter(multisplit). It is recently, everyone is talkign about Inverter Inverter due to Panasonic`s bombardment of ads everywhere. Now, most of the inverters are using R410a due to montrael protocol. As for this gas, it is wiser to choose copper pipe with thickness of 0.56mm

when you mentioned about NORMAL piping, I do not get what you actually meant. Piping in the unit or for installation?

cheers

At what temp should we set it at then, and why?

this is only rule of thumb... base of human perception.

it is consider to be the comfort zone base on trial and error.

there`s no specific answer for this question of yours.

P/S 25C is consider to be cold for me while it is hot for my wife. We argue about temperature setting everynight before going to sleep sweat.gif

I thought it's york not samsung.

Aiyah, they'll say anything just to get the sales.

in addition, this also depends on their sales target... as home appliances company.. panasonic, york, samsung, LG etc.. have this year end sales target.. when you reach it, you will have few percentage rebate plus holiday trip...

say...
1) panasonic needs my sales for 1million and i`ve reach it...
2) samsung`s target is 1million as well, but I reach 900k..

so, certainly i will push samsung one even though pana is better.. just to hit target for more benefit provided the margin is the same laa

Need to buy 8 air cons for my new house and have been to many shops and most of them told me a few things in common. Firstly, York air-con though cheaper but noisy. After a year it will get noisier. More suitable for shops than house as the noise can distract your sleep. Secondly, Panasonic is the most sellable in the market now but from one of the the Panasonic shops in SS2, when I asked about durability/reliability of panasonic air con, interesting answer is depends on your luck. He further said that panasonic air con are made in China and quality control is a big issue. Many shops recommended Mitsubishi where overall it is better than others but it is a bit pricy. I have compared the price buying York over Mitsubishi, I will have a savings between RM2-3K for 8 units. Any advice on York and Panasonic? Thks

excuse me?? panasonice has a super plant in shah alam manufacturing air cond... doh.gif

http://electronics.zibb.com/profile/matsus.../40000/26311432

in fact its the only factory that has inhouse stadium whereby bon odori is held annually

obviously the dealer is in coconut shell

York is made in msia.. its compresser might source from hitachi, copeland or matsushita

i used to be in HVAC line as marketing engineer in one of the brand stated above... cannot say laa...

let me tell you my observation as marketing engineer la...

panasonic target tech savvy customer... e.g. brand recognition, ioniser etc IAQ features...

York focussed on cooling mainly + service oriented....

try compare after sales service for york n panasonic.... smile.gif

while mitsubishi, daikin, samsung is almost same direction as panasonic...

P/S this issue happens to me also when I want to buy specific brand... but the dealer keep wanting me to buy other... only i found out that most electric shop`s supplier(panasonic, LG, samsung etc) give sales target rebat for them and say they have hit target for say LG(100k rebate 5%) so they wont fight sales for LG and will fight for other brand say(current target is 90k and another 10k to hit target 5%) :/

Added on May 8, 2011, 6:12 pmin the nutshell, if you want price competitiveness, good after sales & service, not particular about miscelaneous marketing gimmicks.... York would be an ideal choice.....

Dear Princezz, don't know about others but I bought 4 units of York Cooling King 1.5HP last year and they are really NOISIER than my previous air-cons which were Mitsubishi. When they were new they were ok, after more than a year, the noise get worse. Living room during daytime don't really feel it but at night in my room and my kids room, the noise is disturbing our sleep. Anybody have the same experience or it is just unique to me? I am thinking of changing to Mitsubushi. All the best to you.

in order to have great cooling, you need to have fast moving air... which leads to fast spinning fan

Added on May 9, 2011, 8:59 amthere`s a silence mode in York`s remote....

I do concur that the outlook of york is rather unattractive compared to LG art cool...

P/S i am using inverter by panasonic in my bedroom and it aint cool at all and need to be reservice once every 6 month... my other room are using York and it is as cool as it gets

That is true. I don't listen to those sale guy and direct ask for the model price that I m already decide.

If they can give me the best price, I will take. If they bla. bla, bla or raise something that I need to rethink, I just go back and do some research again. Internet and forum here give me plenty of true information and spec than the sale guy.

this is what happens to the crap sales.. I once experience this.... I bought a LCD TV...

and they send me a sample unit instead of new one... I scold the tauke and ask them to resend a new one... next day... they wrap the sample unit with plastic in hope I dont recognise... I scold again the tauke.. "aiyaa.. sorry boss... itu bangla tak tau laa....I suruh dia ambil baru, dia ambil lama..."

then again 3rd time.... send sample unit again.... then the worker go out and call his boss without knowing that my wife is outside also drying clothes... he called his boss "boss... aiyaa... dia tau jugaklaa itu sample unit.. apa macam sekarang?? aku pun hairan apa macam dia tau??"

my wife alert me and I hold the sample unit while he deliver a new unit for the last time else I want refund... doh.gif

this type of con man businessman....

P/S how I know its a sample unit? got a minor scratch at the corner and serial number ma....

You misleading people. By what you judge that those hp is enough for certain room?
*
A simple calculation is by multiplying your room area by 60(less heated room) and 80(for heated room) and u get btu/hr and match the number with ac spec

Or u can get an engineer to get better number... How many ppl in from, no of windows, computer, living/bedroom/living room etc
