My left right neighbor installed panasonic in 1st batch of 12k btu inverter still running well and fan motor & compressor noise still not much diff than when new, just slightly higher a bit, due to dirty fan blade.

The other side installed Daikin non-inverter after 1 yr usage the noise still same as older aircond.
The noise like King King Kong kong..

guys.. is good or bad for the aircond if there is an air ventilator on the ceiling as in the example pic below

user posted image

what i mean, before having airconds, my house has a roof turbine ventilator installed.. Now, I'm also installing an aircond inside the room. AT night time, the temperature inside the room is much cooler with the aircond, around 26 celcius, but the temperature above the ceiling (inside the roof) is much hotter, around 33 or higher.

I wonder whether the hot roof temperature will 'travel' down into the room, causing the aircond to work much harder.. Should I seal those air ventilator's opening on the ceiling?

I just noticed one thg,
the panasonic aircon that i bought can act as an air purifier.
means compressor won't run aircon but can act like air purifier fan.

anyone know how much electric consumption if ON like that?

No worries. The hot air wont goes down, bcause hot air will stay afloat and cool air will be at d bottom. D best if u can relocate d air grill so that d grill will be at the top of d a/c.

The worst will be the turbine sucking the cold air out. But this is very unlikely to happen since u have another air grill in another room. The air in ac room is much cooler than others, making it heavier n difficult to suck in. So what will hapen is, d turbine will tends to suck air from other room which is hotter.

Not a good idea to make the grill on top of the a/c, blower suck air in from front and top, if it place too close it may suck the roof air, and your room will take longer time to cool. Just like in car, you switch from recycle air to outside air, your car will not feel that cold because is taking external air.

Hot air won't travel down, but it is advisable to seal it up with plaster board, MDF board or whatever or make into something that can have option to switch open/close the ventilator.
As your cold air will also "travel" into the hole (once the whole room being cooled down by air-cond), which means waste electricity only.

Air-cond room or air-cond has better saving in a relative close environment, as air-cond blower generally install at near the top of the room (and having sensor to sense the temperature), so if there is place that cold air can escape from the room, means it takes longer time to achieve the temperature set at remote control, hence more electricity may be wasted.
