Quite standard. Their installation price is for 10ft copper piping only. If more, they will charge for the extra lengths.

QUOTE(itachi~ye @ Sep 28 2011, 11:17 PM) Hi, when it is said that the aircond come with 10ft installation package, the installation is normally exposed type or they will include concealed piping? What is the charges for every ft extra? The additional should be around RM10-11/FR. Non conceal.*for 1hp non-inverter type |

QUOTE(alesi616 @ Oct 16 2011, 12:38 AM) sifu-sifu, Better to get the shop whom you bought the aircon from to take a look at the set. If you call up Pana directly, there could be some changes.i got a problem with pana basic 1HP ac. bought n installed the ac 2 mths ago, after install that day i test it, damn cold. Then i moving in and dint on the ac for 2 mths. Today go ON it, it do not cold at all ! what is the problem, could it be ac faulty or gas leaking? (the indoor unit and outdoor compressor seems working). who should I ask to come check? the panasonic service center, or the ppl that install the ac ? |

QUOTE(alesi616 @ Oct 18 2011, 05:07 PM) i thought the normal parts are 1 yr warranty and compressor are 5 yrs warranty for pana AC ? still got charges if i direct call Pana? My office using pana aircon. Still under warranty. Now one of the compressor is making loud noise when running. My office contacted the Pana directly. Was told that they confirm that the aircon is still under warranty. They could send their technician to check. If required, they will replace the compressor FOC but they will charge for labour. crap, bad luck for me, my new house 1 pana AC not cold, 1 KDK fan got annoying sound and wobble, 1 Alpha fan got random bearing noise......crap now i know no such thing as THE BEST brand!!! normally for those fan issue u all call the shop who sell you the fan, or direct call the service center? So, you would be better off if you get the shop whom you bought the set from to take a look. Let them deal with Pana directly. just my 2 sen |

I was advised that every few months, you should switched on the aircon and let them run.
If the aircon hp were to be based on calculations, it will always be on the higher side. For me, I just use 1hp in all rooms. For the living & dining, just use 1.5hp. Don't need very low temperature. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Nov 3 2011, 10:20 PM) The problem with using lower hp aircons is that the compressor will need to come on more often to maintain a particular temperature. Thats why sometimes ppl who have installed inverter aircons still complain of high electricity bills. BUt if your room is small then a 1.0HP will do. I dont think 1.5HP aircon is sufficient for an open area like the hall unless your hall is really small. For living & dining area, unless the area is enclosed (i.e no cold escape thru the stairwell, etc), as I was advised, even a 3hp AC will not be sufficient. So, it's all down to individual requirement. As for me, I just use 1.5hp plus the ceiling fan. Works fine for me. |

Copper piping for inverter AC is slightly thicker than those for non-inverter. If you have install the thicker piping for the inverter, you could still use for the non-inverter. But not vise versa.

QUOTE(philipcs @ Nov 16 2011, 09:38 AM) Sorry, let me do some correction. The 20x70 is the size for the entire house. It will also depends on what is the temperature you are expecting form the AC. You have a staircase, which I presume is open to the upper floor. Thus source for cold air to escape. Unless your living & dining areas are enclosed, it will be difficult to achieve a very low temp. The built up area for living and dining area is 20x26 (including staircase) and dry kitchen area is 9x6 How should I place my air cons? Added on November 16, 2011, 9:02 am QUOTE(iamsobloodysick @ Nov 15 2011, 11:52 PM) i dont think people will pay high for the inverter piping and use it for non inverter series aircond. if there is, it is only a small group of customers (price doesnt matter) would do so. The cost for the inverter copper piping is not very much from the non-inverter ones. Considering this over the total renovation cost and the need to hack and replace the piping if sometime down the road, you decides otherwise. QUOTE(philipcs @ Nov 16 2011, 10:18 AM) Thanks for replying, normally i set the temp to 23 or 24 degrees C. Since this is my 1st landed DSL House, therefore i would like to know from other forummer what is the usually placement for air con in ground floor and what is the needed horse power. For my case, I place the both the AC units at both ends of the living & dining. Thanks again. |

This is the comment that I received from Panasonic Malaysia pertaining to my inverter aircon.
"Please note that installing Panasonic wall mounted Inverter type of air conditioner [1.0hp – 2.5hp using R410A as refrigerant] requires a minimum of 0.6mm thickness of copper piping and indoor and outdoor units must be connected with 4 wires (which are live, neutral, communication and earth wires). " Hope this helps... |
