Was offered RM 1990 for a Sharp Inverter but around RM 370 installation, while the Sen Heng shop near the shop that offered me 1990 was trying to sell me the same a/c for RM2.4k.. Hmm..

i was being quoted rm280 for non inverter air con installation and around rm680 for inverter one. Is this a standard price?both already with powerpoint.so, the above quote is only for conceal piping and installation.

If you wanna install non-inverter 2.5hp don't go wrong, cause the huge size of condenser outdoor can easily vibration of your front door frame,
If the case is just hang up the top of door.

I can suggest install this model mitsubishi startmex inverter 2.5hp, for the set is around Rm2700~2900 sorry I'm forget already the actual price for without installed.

The electric bill is only cost you around same as 1.5hp non-inverter Aircon monthly Bill or less.
The R410a gas an inverter control is really make your living hall cooling & efficient.
Most of time you only need set to 25C or higher temp. Cause it is really feels comfort & quiet with easiy clean to access to fan blower.

My living hall is 400sf & Dining hall is 150sf.

Market rate std installation for 1hp non inverter rm140-200.
2-2.5hp 250+++ depend on yoir piping length. Std installation normally back to back, piping less than 10ft

don't know about inverter as i never have one

My 2 cents.
Why not put 2hp + 1hp. At least you can focus the cooling point where you need. If only one, your cooling to dining area will be longer time. By than, you already finish your lunch / dinner.

Your house in Parklands? The layout look familiar. tongue.gif I guess 2.0HP will be well enough for the living hall. Unless u wanted to blow the living hall & dining hall together then you may required 2.5HP.

Guess we're out of topics. Later kena scold by people. tongue.gif BTW, I'm planning to get Sharp Inverter air-cond for my house. Anyone here is using Sharp? I prefer the plasmacluster technology which I heard this is much better air purifying technology compared with others. Any comment?

It also depend whether any glass door to block the aircon go behind (kitchen area), else never been cool and your a/c will keep running non stop.

Cold are move downward, but of course for long running hours is better to cover the stair area.

Mine is 2hp + 1hp, with 2hp, my living area is just enough cooling, but not to the extend of real cool. My dining area take longer time to cool down if only switch on the 2hp @ living area, when i have large group of people dining or "open table" during CNY, i switch on the dining area a/c together with my living room.
