Recently, I am now facing some noise problem (when the vents are set to swing) on 2 of my Pana AC. Reported the problem to Pana and they got their agent and also sent their own technician to look at them. 3 times already. Even after changing the controller board plus the discharge grille. The noise come back after a day or two. doh.gif

It is from the blower unit. Noise comes about when the air vents are moving up & down and sideways. More like some friction in the moving parts. However, the noise is not constant. Most likely when the vent is at certain direction or what. Anyway, it is quite irritating especially at night. So as temp measure, had to turn off the air vent swing.

Thanks for confirming. So far do you think is it on par with the bigger branded air con out there? I am considering midea as well, but then a bit concerns on the reliability thought hmm.gif .

unfortunately, i can only giv u my honest feedback after few months. to my, the inner working of inverter is almost the same across all brands. for 1.5hp inverter, price diff is closed to rm500 between midea and panasonic. so that IS a BIG diff. well, it shouldnt be too bad 2+3 warranty, appliances now, use ->spoilt ->throw ->buy new.

I see, perhaps I should consider as one of the option smile.gif. Besides, do you guys know that for the inverter type of compressor, you would need to empty out the existing coolant before refilling the new one? As for the normal type of air con, we can just "top up" to refill it. Not sure if this is real or not.

Note: Midea inverter can just refill.... that is what I have been told tongue.gif

I have had this problem also in one of my pana aircond. However the noise gone after couple of minutes. I'm sure it cames from the swing parts but I haven't switch on the aircond as I seldom use the room. Will try again this weekend.

May I know what is the meaning back to back installation? I understand it's aircon installed with the outdoor unit right behind it after the wall. How about install aircon on the wall, the pipe going straight out from the wall to outside then a few feet away to the outdoor unit? Is that considered back to back?

Also, does back-to-back installation requires hacking and cementing back? At first I want to let my contractor settle the aircon cause we want concealed piping (not back-to-back). But he’s slow… so I’m thinking to deduct that work out and only buy air con after we move in and go for back to back. Now my concern is whether there’s hacking and I would need contractor to help me cement/plastering back that area.

Hope my explanation of my scenario is clear. I’m so kucar-kacir now because of the renovation thing! Stress...
