shortlisting for budget filter: (price of filter/price of catridge/catridge life)
3M AP Easy = RM700/250/2800liter Aquasana AQ4000 = RM800/RM300/2000 liter Culligan IC EZ4 = RM400/300/1900liter 3M filter = 0.5 micron Aquasana A=5micron, B=0.5micron Culligan = ?? micron so i believe the cheapest solution would be to have a RM30/RM2 prefilter plus the 3M AP Easy This post has been edited by fireballs: Jan 14 2015, 04:18 PM |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jan 14 2015, 05:03 PM) This RM400 POE system perhaps ? yup same here. except that i can't install a poe filter due to condo restriction. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=69899540 I had a double RM25 cheapo Aeon Big 10" sediment filters as my POE. First filter 5 micron, second filter 1 micron. Cheapest POE system for handyman who has no problem replacing the filter cartridges. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « will have to install the rm25aeon filter for all points before the pou. this will prolong the life of the pou filter |

speaking of the rm25 aeon filters, what is the filter media to use?
i have been using rm 2 per filter, polypropelene solid type. wash every month and change new one when lazy or too hard to clean. does it make sense to switch to more expensive ones? thinking of adding a doulton ceramic 0.2micron. they are cheap too. one about rm50 (probably fake one) before my pou filter |
