There is no WM with IP in the market. IP is not applicable when there is an opening. WM is just not build with this kind of outdoor resistant. Build a metal box to around the WM. My guess is that the WM will not emit much heat. So a box around it will not be a problem.

?? My mum said she only paid 120 for the motor after she used her samsung WM for 9 years. She claimed she called the Samsung Service Centre. She did not say anything about the service charge.

Sorry, it is not 120. Just got a clarification from mum. It is 90 only for the motor replacement and mum took out 90 only from her purse. She did not mention about the trip charge and all or else old auntie would have complained here and there.

Also, this is a belt driven WM. PCB has never burnt before. Guess that she is lucky with this one.

Yup, direct driven motor us 10 years warranty, but parts are 1 year.
