My parent's Panasonic front load is having this problem, where the "paddle" gap will trap the loose end of the garments and cause it to get stuck there as per the picture below.

May I know how to remove the paddles to clear the leftover cloths? And how to prevent this? For now they just put those small clothes or those with the string inside a laundry bag, but it's additional work for them.
