Anyone using Electrolux Combo Washer And Dryer ? Could i have some comments for this appliance? I bought it recently but i found out that it is not that efficiency. It took me around 4 hours plus to complete washing and drying.I am curious is it mine problem or it is normal.

Heard from one of my neighbour's who use the wash and dry combo washing machine, the whole cycle (Wash + dry) takes about 3 -4 hrs depending on the load. Does it come out completely dry?

Hi QQHTJ
I spoke to a BEKO washing machine person in a fair today and he told me that the washer plus dryer has some drawback. especially, if you note, the washing function can load up to 8kg and drying normally 5kg. Therefore, you will need to take out the extra clothes (remaining 3kg) that you had wash and maintain the prescribed weight (in this case 5kg) for the remaining drying function. Then, I believe your drying part would be more efficient. Just my 2 cents.

basically when you have more than a batch laundry to go then you will frust within that 3-4 hours you cannot wash and dry two different batches at the same time. if separate, you can wash one batch while the other washed batch is being dried.
I also went to the fair. Good offer? Do you think it will get better at Perfect Livin' in Aug?

yes bro, BEKO was giving a good offer. The bundled 7kg washing machine and 7kg dryer only for RM2599. They give 5 years warranty some more. Electrolux only 3 years. Im n't sure whether can get back that offer, my friend bought the same thing for higher price few months back.

minki,

A quick sanity check before narrowing down for a combo would be how many ppl in your household and if your home has limited dry area balcony space or none at all?
Combo washer & dryer have certain limitations:
1. Drying load is less than washing load. (8/5, 7/5, 9/6, 10/6, 11/7 etc)
2. When load piles up esp when coming back from long trips or more commonly due to lifestyle that washing can only be done over weekends (no maid or helper), have to wait for drying to complete before the next washing cycle can begin.

The other technical limitation is laundry area of homes are commonly supplied with a 13A point. Depending upon the energy requirements of a washer dryer combo, some could require minimum 15A or 20A electrical point though newer generations one less. Dedicated washer dryer should be using higher if they are used simultaneously. Just like electric ovens.

Of course, the best is to spread out washing and drying but limitation 1 is the main cause of laundry pile up in a multiple occupant household. If you're just alone then it shouldn't be an issue.

If these two limitations are not acceptable, the best is to go with separate washer and dryer. Most would supply a stacking kit.

If there's a dedicated drying area that you're able to hang laundry, there's less need for a washer/dryer combo. In that case, aim for a 1000rpm or higher spin rpm (for dryer clothes) front load washer and size up your load accordingly.

mellem, you nailed the main issue with combo washer/dryer. The only probable use case is advanced aged couple whose children has flown the nest and they can't be bothered hanging up the laundry like they did for 30 over years. For those just married or already having a family of our own...they know this issue well.

Also, about dry area - this is an area of home improvement which most of us living in the tropics or I may be wrong even in this forum never considered talking about. Bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet yes but dry area??? Maybe we aren't into airing dirty laundry. laugh.gif

It's new model - inverter motor - since Q3 2012 but only brought in here in 2013. SG PUB has classified it in its Water Efficiency Labeling Scheme (WELS) - 8.10litres/kg here. Electrolux website should display it. MY only has 1000rpm vs AU/NZ 1400rpm model (EWF14912 - AU/NZ only).

If you're in PJ-Shah Alam, Jintex's price is here.

Anybody using Toshiba AW-SD130SM? Mine come to problem when asking for warranty replacement on the motor. I suppose is the whole assembly under the pulsator. The tech ask to pay RM390.00 on the part change (Shaft assembly).
When I ask it's under warranty? he told me the motor coil ONLY. The rotor is not. So does the shaft & coupling!!!??? Is it true? Anybody out there any suggestion?

Powder - Persil or MaxKleen9 or Amway SA-8 (expensive)
Liquid - Kao Attack, Cosway and Meleleuca.

I was told from various ppl Cosway detergent dosage is less than most sold in supermarket so lasts longer. Then some who'd used it switch to Meleleuca and said that its dosage (96 per bottle) even less and when combined with their softener leaves clothes even softer than Cosway's own. They also use the green laundry bio ball which I think soften/condition water so that dosage is reduced by 25-50% depending upon detergent used.
