QUOTE(Dragonfly2014 @ Oct 12 2015, 11:47 AM) Hi would like to seek opinion from experienced guy... Measure width of the narrowest cross-section after the door has opened. Account for the 'bulge' of that door when fully opened. Take 4 measurements. Lowest most quarter, mid and three quarter height. This is to account for situations where door frame are not parallel and either slant away or towards each other. The narrowest reading is the maximum clearance for the washing machine to buy.Can the washing machine goin through the small entrance like in the pic? The tile I think is 2x2 ft, standard width of washing machine is 2ft... Will you take risk? [attachmentid=5106847] |

I bought my current top loading Toshiba 6.5 kg washing machine for my mother in 1999.... that was 16 years ago.. the machine is still working but the cleaning is not what is used to be. . it can hardly spins at even half full load. So, today..just got myself another Toshiba, a 16kg... for I have 4 growing kids and a full 13kg laundry load each day... .. just hope this new machine can last as long as the last one...

If the washing regime includes softener, it will cause mould growth on the parts of the tub we don't see ie outer tub. My FL faces this issue after 4 years in which it would go wobbly whilst entering spin but stabilised thereafter as spin speed increases. But FL can take very hot water so a borax wash helps reduce mould smell. Newer washing machine -both front and top load- will now include tub clean. This helps somewhat. Part of the other reason is the old softener accumulates on the drum and is not easily dislodged. This alters the spin dynamics of the tub wherein vibration or non spin unless load have been reduced. Hence, washers with tub clean functions are vital. |

Dryer Electrolux EDV6051. Most FL washing machine should allow stacking, see manual. Easier to buy online from Xavax EU which has accessories for washing machine from pedestal, stacking kit, drain hose, aqua stop inlet hose, etc. Manufacturer also may sell kit but have to order from them directly. Call them and ask. Main thing to address first is the space where WM is located, tiles should not be slippery and a wall backing for dryer ie behind it should be the wall and not the void space where washer is directly next to balcony banister. |

Different brand and model may have problem with stacking. Some are not design to hold the vertical load. And the most danger is the high spinning vibration. Can topple the dryer down. And the dryer too have spinning mode which cause vibration. It will be better to have the frame. |

That's why I mentioned the floor tiles requirement to avoid walking washing machine issue. Also mentioned to check the model's manual which would have specified if the machine is suitable to be stacked upon or otherwise. And the most danger is the high spinning vibration. Can topple the dryer down. And the dryer too have spinning mode which cause vibration. It will be better to have the frame. |

Well, you can only reduce the vibration of a WM by not using it And the most danger is the high spinning vibration. Can topple the dryer down. And the dryer too have spinning mode which cause vibration. It will be better to have the frame. In reality, as long as an appliance that having rotary parts, it will subjected to vibration. |
