For FL, take the biggest capacity you can afford. Difference in water/electricity usage for a load of the same size, across FL of different capacity is negligible. Modern FL has variable water usage, according to load size. You can wash a 2kg load, in a 10kg FL just fine without wasting water/electricity. Ok.. maybe electricity because you should go optimal all the time biggrin.gif

From my experience, I own 8kg FL...
King size bedsheet + pillow cases + bolster case in one load. Comforter sheet in another load. It's definitely too small for the actual comforter itself. 10kg should be big enough for that.

Good thing about hanging in the sun is the UV ray kills bacteria. Clothes tend to smell fresher, for longer. However, the very same UV ray also shortens the life of your clothes.

I've seen indoor hangers with UV light attachment. Not sure how effective those are.

I wash my curtains at self service laundries. They have 13kg front loaders and dryers.

anyone uses Panasonic front load NA-148VG3.

my mum said electrical shop in hometown told her that this model is no longer in the production anymore.

asked me to look for another model. Any recommendation for price range RM2.5k?
*
Panasonic updates their front loader models almost every year! I wonder if they really do change anything or just cosmetic changes smile.gif

For 2.5k, you can try looking at Hitachi. Some lower end Electrolux is also around that price range.

A FL is almost always more gentle than a TL. Your clothes will last longer.

my electrolux front wash....always got smelly smell
how to stop this?

If you are a heavy user, once a month pour a cup of bleach into the dispenser, then run the washing machine on its hottest cycle (90C).

Just got for myself a new Electrolux EWF12732 to replace the Bosch SG20460 that got faulty after only 3 years of use.

I hope the Electrolux would last much much longer than the Bosch.  sweat.gif

I've seen front loaders in Japanese households. But top loaders are more common.

Japanese love their top loaders. Front loaders are more an European thing.

You should always follow the laundry symbols on the label.

Try Dynamo, I use the liquid ones.. no smell

Don't use Dynamo for FL, way too much suds.
TOP is pretty good too, they have for both FL and TL.
