Both have bad and good point. I have use both type.

Top loading use more water, higher for short people (if you buy bigger type) and less cleaner. The good is you can open it anytime to load and unload.

I m currently using front loading as it use less water and cleaner. You cannot open it simply when half way washing. One more I choose the front loading is, cause I want come together with dryer where top loading don't have combo dryer type.

The most important is, the washing machine have this washing function. Than look for 12kg above.

My queen size comforter can load in 12kg. But it is max.

I have a friend who commented on those 2in1 washer/dryer. She was mentioning that it isn't good. I think in the long run the machine will break down faster. I suggest that you get seperate ones - preferably European brand.

FYI, it says it has warm temp for washing - you have to actually install a boiler/hot water pipe to your washing machine, not that the machine will actually warm up the water for washing. But i might be wrong, it might be a new invention but this is what i know and how it works overseas. biggrin.gif

FYI, warm water might shrink some clothings, so beware.

Hi Alan,

From my experience with using dryers, usually when the cycle is done, take out your clothes immediately and shake it. Dunno how to explain, something like before you hang your clothes to dry, you shake it all out. Then it will be fine. I don't think the 'steam refresh' function really gives out any difference.

If anyone at all, are the sort that leaves the clothes in the dryer/washer for a long time before taking it out, regardless of any magic 'no need to iron your clothes' function, it'll still be wrinkly.

Also it depends on the type of clothing you want to dry, usually for jeans, it will take probably 1hr to 1.5hr but then again getting your clothes all warmed up isn't that good either as it will shrink clothes. Also for those sweater like clothing, within time, the material will be 'furry-like'.

I never iron my clothes and yet, it does not wrinkle after every machine wash.

Front loading machine have built in heater, and some models have selectable temperature thermostat so you can select the water temperature that you need(ie between water temperature to 90 degC).

Most top loading that I know off, do not have built in heater but some do provide secondary inlet for hot water. That is you need an external heater to send hot water to the machine.

My parents have been using front load ever since their first machine, currently we're on the second and this machine is about 10 years old, relatively fuss free operation and so far has not broke down.
