March 2018 update for my Panasonic NR-BY558XSMY refrigerator energy consumption.

[attachmentid=9705788]

March 2018 total energy consumption: 32.78 kWh

Setting for March 2018:
Fridge: Medium
Prime Fresh: Medium
Freezer: Low (To avoid Econavi kick in)

Cost for March 2018 (31 days): 32.78 * 0.218 = RM 7.146
Cost per day: RM 7.146 / 31 = RM 0.2305
Cost per year: RM 0.2305 * 365 = RM 84.14
*
Just slightly more from your previous test. I supposed this would be the most optimum setting?

Fridge: Medium
Prime Fresh: Medium
Freezer: Low (To avoid Econavi kick in)

Normal usage, just put Medium will do, unless your refrigerator is almost empty, then put Low.

Hi. All bros and sis.

Currently I m looking a fridge to buy.

Anyone have any nice unit recommend?
My budget is around RM1000. Only 2 people using. Small family.

Currently I m comparison 4 brands which are haier, LG, Samsung and Sharp.

180L to 220L will do.

I m staying at Ulu tiram, Johor.

Anyone have suggestion for which electrical shop is offering good price? Thanks

I just noticed for Panasonic fridges, model NR-BV368XSMY has been discontinued and replaced by NR-BC369XSMY. Further checking revealed on these major differences:-

1. Type or refrigerant. BV368XS uses R600A while the new BC369XS uses HFC-134a.
2. Size of Prime Fresh Freezing compartment. The new BC369XS now has an additional compartment for Prime Fresh. As a result, one compartment is now smaller.
3. Energy consumption of the new BC369XS at 380kWh/year is lower than the BV368XS at 405kWh/year.

Not sure how the energy consumption of the new BC369XS is lower since the 134a refrigerant is reported to register higher energy consumption than the R600A in some studies. Perhaps Panasonic tweaked some of the other features to make the new BC369XS to be more energy efficient. Any thoughts>?

April 2018 update for my Panasonic NR-BY558XSMY refrigerator energy consumption.

Attached Image

Setting for April 2018:
Fridge: Low
Prime Fresh: Low
Freezer: Low

Cost for April 2018 (30 days): 32.81 * 0.218 = RM 7.153
Cost per day: RM 7.153 / 30 = RM 0.2384
Cost per year: RM 0.2384 * 365 = RM 87.02

This month consumption is higher compare to last month despite settings set to low and less one day compare to last month, because last month I did not use my refrigerator for few days.

Just sharing recently i bought Sharp Pelican 610L, model SJP60MFMS with J Tech Inverter and PlasmaCluster ion tech at RM2277 (inclusive of GST).

This was Sharp's 33 years promotion for the week of 20th - 30th April 2018. Quite worth it.

It is 394 kWh per year.
When take power consumed for May 2018, which is 32.61 kWh,
the estimated one year power consumption will be 32.61 / 31 * 365 = 383.96 kWh, quite close to the measurement done by ST.

Oh cool, so I was looking at a 420kWj per year fridge, so it should be roughly around RM90-100 per year.. not bad
