I just myself a Hitachi RZ490 fridge yesterday. After putting it still for more than 8 hours, i power it On. When the compressor starts running, it produces a humming sound. Is this normal for Hitachi fridge?
*
Maybe the engine is running and ur tamper glass, vegetable rack is shaking inside when the fridge inside is 100% empty.
i got the same problem, try to put some 1.5L water bottle inside and try again.

Most probably its empty. I haven't stock up anything in the fridge yet. Will try this Saturday when I go supermarket to stock up my fridge.
*
Yeah...
I think ur issue was, u heard of "Hoooom.... Hoooommm.... Hoooom" sound right?
my one is hitachi 600L, the sound louder i think, after that i found out put some water bottle inside press it down then lesser noise.

Fridge ...
how do u think between Hitachi R-V750PMX, Panasonic NR-BY602XS or Samsung S5562 ??
*
I am using R-V750PM, not X (X is stainless steel door maybe RM300-400 more expensive).
So far so good, used bout 1.5KW electric per day for 3 out of 5 energy bar.

But I think when the fridge pick up the motor is quite loud seriously, but maybe just for 10-15mins.
and then it looks OK later on.

bought it at rm1850. cooling ok. just the motor sound a bit louder but as time flies and as the fridge is filled up, u'll get used to it.

my opinion, i shud say the sound isn't from the motor mechanical, it is the vibration(when motor run) that causes the sound.
*
My hitachi inverter 600L also same,
motor run is quite noisy.
but now already get used to it haha. laugh.gif

Hi IceBikers and sovietmah,

Thanks for the feedbacks.
It seem like the noise is not a big issue.

I found that the door of hitachi fridge is not that tight compare to other brands, this should be ok right?
Other brand like LG or Panasonic need to pull strongly in order to open the door, but hitachi only need to pull gently.
Will a tight door preserve the cold temperature better?

Thanks
*
Hitachi door is OK.
Some panasonic fridge very tight hence difficult to pull it.

Hi sovietmah, which model are you using? Do you fee the side of the fridge is warm/hot?
*
I am using R-V750PM non-stainless steel door.
Side yes, i think left side (if you look at the fridge), right side seems normal.
I think it is common, my colleague also bought R-V750PMX (stainless steel door), i am expecting the motor is the same, so she said also louder sound when pick up.

Is this normal? Have you check with the SC?

Or maybe your house still empty that the surrounding wall echo the noise louder.
*
Seriously i never check with customer service.
Because i asked my colleague who got the same type of fridge, she mentioned the same.

I go back and check what is my old fridge sound level. Starting and running.

It pretty annoying if the sound loud.
*
I noticed in normal rate, the motor works OK, and quite quiet.
the problem starts only if you put lot of new stuff into the fridge or leave the door open for quite sometimes,
then the motor start maximum boost.

I measure the noise using the sound meter (db). Put the meter about 300mm from the compressor. The result

When the compressor stop and total silent. Meter show 36.9db
user posted image

When compressor kick start run. Highest reading is 61.4db
user posted image

After it run stable and continue run, the meter show 39.6db

Can't tell it loud or not since I use to the noise level already.

Below is the sound in DB when my hitachi 600 litres inverter fully pick up.
Stays constant around 60db..
Which I think too noisy for me.

Is your want is inverter?

The DB is almost double my fridge which running db is 40. The 60db is my kick start sound. That quite noisy.
*
Yes inverter.
but after picked up then back to normal < 10-20db i guess.

The graph is not whole operation? I thought the average stick is normal running db. While the long stick is kick start db.

If normal is <10-20db, it should be hardly hear the sound.
*
The constant stick is the average db for boosting operation.
The long stick because i close the door, and move my chair.

RVG is not inverter control? But from what i found out, R-VG710P3M is the latest model with inverter control and dual fan cooling.
http://hitachiconsumer.com.my/files/pdf/Re...g2_20140120.pdf

Please correct me if i am wrong.

How do find the noise level? is it noisy at the while? How loud is the noise? I just don't think the electrical shop will power on the fridge for me to test it...
*
I am using big 2 R-W750FPM 600 litres inverter Hitachi.
Pro
1. Save electricity
2. Chill up ice very quickly
3. Large compartment

Cons
1. Super noisy when motor pick up

Hi... I didn't go for R-VG660P3M and got R-VG710P3M instead, my wife want a BIG fridge.  sweat.gif
Most of the shop offer around RM2500 (plus/minus) for R-VG660P3M, I managed to get R-VG710P3M with RM2600. brows.gif
I got my Hitachi fridge in yesterday afternoon and start to use it in yesterday night.  smile.gif
From my observation, it is quite noisy when fully pick up (around 60dB) if compare to my mum's old Toshiba fridge .  doh.gif
FYI, I using the software "sound meter lite" with my Android to track the sound level, I do not have sound level meter.  sad.gif

Also, you can refer to another feedback shared by sovietmah in post #1167 for his fridge R-V750PM. The sound level stay constant around 60db.
Yup, you are right.  thumbup.gif
I got it for RM2600, best deal in town!  rclxm9.gif

I think it's a known issue for Hitachi fridge that quite noisy when fully pick-up, where it can stay constant around 60db.  doh.gif

Another forumer sovietmah raised this issue earlier of March for his fridge R-V750PM and I raised my issue early of April after bought R-VG710P3M, you can refer from here.

Agreed with you.
if you want to put a sleeping bed or sofa near by your fridge, then hitachi is a NO-NO for you.
But seriously, after 6 months, i also get used to it already.

Received my Hitachi R-W750FPMX, The fridge arrived at 1pm yesterday and we powered it on at 7pm yesterday. By 7am this morning, I saw the indicator is already at Eco; the whole of yesterday it was running on full power. As for the noise, there is some noise but not very noisy, will test the reading today. Can barely hear the sound, or probably because we immune to the sound of our old Sharp Fridge.

Ya it is like this.
It will be OK after a while. ur one is stainless steel right?
