I am very interested of getting a Panasonic fridge with inverter since it is power saving but heard that the bottom freezer might pose some problem for old people, what else is the disadvantage of bottom freezer?

Need to bend down to take stuff from freezer. And due to the drawer design, the net capacity will be smaller.

I have 1, other than the drawer type freezer, the rest is good, veg compartment is higher, and because of the drawer freezer, I'll need to arrange the food in order and keep my freezer compartment neat, also disposed which ever food is expired....
Most important, save energy for such a big fridge.

+1. Energy saving is th emain concern to buy their fridge.

Dear All Refrigerator sifus  biggrin.gif

Currently I'm surveying fridge for my new home. Prefer side by side fridge. I'm eyeing on samsung but after i read all your post, seems like it's not a good choice?

Yesterday I saw this Samsung side by side fridge white color RM5599 at harvey norman. It's 543 litres

Is it a good buy? Or should I go for panasonic??

Each product have own unique features and also targetted consumers.
In Malaysia, bottom freezer are new but in oversea, it had been used for long time. why dont ppl complaint about it?
If you think bottom freezer not suit you, just go ahead with normal fridge and move on. biggrin.gif

True.
more or less once per day when cooking time.
But got to lock properly, easy for kid to look for their ice-cream sweat.gif

More worry if kids take chairs to get ice cream at top freezer.

Extra warranty is needed especially refrigerator as the current quality is bad. And simple repair will cost you a bomb, at least RM200++ so it is a wise choice to get the extra warranty.
*
The idea is good, but will seller honour the warranty? That is another story.

we bought a Fisher & Paykel... or rather it was sponsored by my mil.

compared to my previous mitsubishi, the Fisher and Paykel had a spacious interior and the cooling was uniform throughout.
very happy with it so far.

A side point to share, whenever possible please place your fridge on a plinth(raised platform)
See the below link to see how the plinth saved our fridge...

Do you mind the share the price for your new and old fridge?
This is not an apple to apple comparison. doh.gif
