bt i wish 2 make it low profile...looks more garang n the rim looks bigger. Thick tyres vry ugly wor...do u noe any shops tat sell cheap rims other than klang?? thx...hehe

u want to make the rims look bigger and the car more 'garang', just go for dark coloured rims (flat/hyper black, dark bronze, gun metal). The best balance upgrade is 15" rims with 195/50 tires. It wont stress the small underpowered 1.3 engine.

For your info, shops in klang has raised the price of their sport rims after the fuel price increase. A set of locally made rims I bought at rm580 5 months ago now cost rm780 best price! sweat.gif sweat.gif

For reference, assuming stock LMST tires are 185/60/14;

to 195/50/15=-2mm diameters; less stress
to 195/55/15=+18mm diameters; very stressful. Not recommended as it exceeded the recommended +/-2.5% difference
to 205/45/16=+13mm diameters; very stressful, but better than 195/55/15 and still within recommended range.

if - means, your speedo will show higher than actual speed.
if + means, your speedo will show lesser than actual speed.

I've upgraded my stock lmst 13" rim to 15" with 195/50 so far so good, no significant power loss or excessive fuel consumption. Really felt the balance and much grip compare to my former stock steel rim. Must've been coz 13". My tyre is Bridgestone MY-01, good enuf for me la.. slow slow ma..

definitely wont effect the fuel consumption as u can see from the numbers i posted above, u have actually made a good move by opting for a smaller diameter within the recommended range. thumbup.gif

icic
previously using 165/60/13
now using 195/55/16 sweat.gif

whoa... if that's the case then memang lari banyak. The difference is actually +17.61% (93mm). That's way beyond the recommended +/-2.5% range. u should get the speedo re tuned.
