QUOTE(areankim @ Jul 26 2008, 12:38 AM) i think i will need some like motion detector... which on the spotlight on my garage, magnectic sensor for my door and shock sensor for my window... how much ar? wireless one i was quoted 2 types:1) sensor with automatic caller to your handphone if movement is detected by sensor - pay RM500-1600 depends on the number of sensors. Then RM 75/mth service charge 2) Automatic gate motor with alarm system - if without CCTV - RM 2000, with CCTV - RM3500. No monthly service charges. Can watch the video in CCTV via 3G/broadband internet. Anything detected through sensor you will be called via handphone |

to wire the entire house with 15 motion sensors, 2 motion detectors(for roof), 2 keypads, processor board, siren with flash strobe, internal alarm, it will cost you from RM2k onwards.
Supa8, DF, are some of made in malaysia brands. Paradox is made in canada. Prices can differs greatly with different installers, but almost all of them said they provide better service/after sales service and all sorts of standard pitch la. Good luck. And oh, by the way, the wireless sensors are operated with factory installed battery. i.e. you have to call the installer to install new batteries once it run out. Also, is hard to tell whether the sensor is working or not. |

QUOTE(areankim @ Jul 29 2008, 11:01 AM) yeah that automatic gate with alarm system sounds like a better deal. You need to install phone line in your house, so whenever your sensors detect something, it will call your handphone through your own house phone. 3G of course have to pay lah. That company offer package without automatic gate claimed that they provide better service blah blah but they charge $$ for every damn things they install Added on July 30, 2008, 12:57 pm QUOTE(gsuave @ Jul 29 2008, 10:09 PM) And oh, by the way, the wireless sensors are operated with factory installed battery. i.e. you have to call the installer to install new batteries once it run out. QUOTE(muscaa @ Jul 30 2008, 08:00 AM) yeah I just had a chat with a fellow who install alarm system, he told me that now there is a new system imported from UK which all the sensors and devices are linked by wifi. So there is no wires needed which may look ugly if you install it on your wall How does the sensors and devices for this wifi system get their power? I assume they are using batteries? If the system is using batteries, it will have the same issues (battery running out etc.) as those wireless alarm systems. |
