one of the reasons why i lost interest in my PS2, component cable did help a bit, but the stupid TV refuses to display the picture properly 
wanted to hook it back with the old 21" CRT but it went dead on me when i was about to do so now my PS2 is only played for 1 hour per every few months

flying nunchuk anyway, to TS, it doesn't matter here whether it is a myth or not, ur dad bought the tv and he has every right on how it should be used, but i'd prefer to get myself a tv and play my games in my own room (privacy, and i feel bad if i hog the tv and the entire family has to watch me play)
but it's a waste of time anyway if u are addicted and play for long hours. when i was addicted back then, i could play for more than 12 hours non-stop, but if u think again, the time could be better spent at doing other stuffs. no offense
