Nintendo Wii Gets Rechargeable Battery Packs From Sanyo

If you are a Nintendo Wii fan, then I am almost prepared to bet that you have a lot of Wii accessories; official or unofficial. All these makes you use a lot of AA batteries that you can construct a model of Nintendo WIi out of it. Sanyo’s Eneloop will help you to avoid AA batteries garbage dump in your house.

Nintendo Wii Gets Rechargeable Battery Packs From Sanyo

The Eneloop charging station will ensure that you don’t need to constantly run out to buy some AA batteries. All you have to do is place the Wii remote in the charger stand after playing and thats it! The stand supports upto 4 Wii remotes and charging happens one by one and not simultaneously.

The Sanyo Eneloop Wii is available for now in Japan for US$73.

this is impressive!

QUOTE
If all the extra accessories aren't making your Wii collection a mess, all the AA batteries you've thrown out have at least caused a lump in a landfill. To help out in the battery department, Sanyo has come up with the Eneloop charging station complete with a battery pack replacement pack for your Wii remote and a charging base that can support as many as four controllers at once. Remotes charge in a respectable 220 minutes and Eneloop will even charge sequentially so you don't have to wait an extra couple hours for your next Smash Bros fix. Available for $73 as an import item, but we wouldn't be surprised if this showed up on our shores for powerless gamers this fall.

UPDATE: Confused about why this is important? The new recharger uses a contact-free electromagnetic system so you don't need to remove your battery pack. Oh - it's also the first Nintendo-licensed recharger.

Same in one sense, but big difference in another ...
the beauty of this charger is that its contactless and it does not require u to remove the plastic protector to charge it...

Contact free electromagnetic system...

I tot Tesla did that before (Banned). It was suppose to be free energy. Guess they're reinventing it again.

EM induction technology has been around for quite a while. even radio tech is derivative of that. i dont think tesla's work was banned, just that in that era, remote energy delivery over short distances had few practical applications. No cell-phones and wireless devices see?

Still this is cool tech. reminds me of the wireless/bateryless A4 mouse they had in Lowyat a couple years back.

220mins = 3hours 50mins, close to 4hours

probably because it is using magnetization way to charge it thats why longer..... not efficient at all~

will the magnetization interfere with yr tv screen / electronic devices ?
in the long term, no idea whether it has any effects on human.

need to stay away frm radiation ~ too much going around~
mobile phone, ir sensor, bluetooth, tv transmission waves, wireless internet.. etc

i think the wave would be of relatively low frequency... and high amplitude?? (my guess... hah)
probably not the type to affect human health?

as for the tv screens... crt tubes may be affected?
