QUOTE(gapnap @ Jul 24 2008, 02:13 AM) market survey ? ok i get your point.. but let me make another one i agree with freakfingers Jackson is much cheaper than Dean lah ...so you gotta put the price factor in .. Even tho i dislike the new Jacksons..i would say , paying RM2200 for a jap made , alder body , sharktooth inlays , Seymour duncan combo , licensed floyd , matching headstock , good hardware ...is pretty value for money...more worth it than getting a RM3000 Korean Dean .. |

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Jul 24 2008, 06:35 AM) To me, I prefer Deans. Maybe it's their marketing, but dammit, they make some good guitars. Lots of artists are also going to Dean (including the Fickle Mustaine), and don't forget the almighty Dimebag. nice, you getting the korean one? for how much if you dont mind me asking? how come your not getting it from the malaysian dealer? yea i'm in love with them since i tried my first one, used to love old jacksons and gibsons.. feel like toy guitar to me now. And i know i'm not the only one, alot of my friends who were esp fanboys jumped ship once they tried a dean.I'm hoping to get my Razorback 255 in Singapore in about 2 weeks time. Found the price not much different than US. |

QUOTE(gapnap @ Jul 24 2008, 10:48 AM) so basically you are saying that... Yes i totally agree with you, especially with guitars it's a matter of preference, i'm quite enjoying hearing diff opinions so feel free to debate Dean ML 79' > Jackson MIA Soloist , Jackson RR1 , ESP Eclipse , and everything 5-7k Jackson & ESP ? i have tried a Dean ML 79' before ..and ..its really tempting to start a debate with you.. but ..everybody is entitle with their own opinions..so its ok im finding this quite educational also. I forgot exactly which rr i tried actually i think it might be the rr3 but it was around the 4 - 5k range but i did manage to do a side by side comparison with an esp sv..which was going for 12k last year but now its around 8k. I was comparing it with a dean 30th anniversary V korean. Yea the esp specs are amazing, aldor wood, emg 81's,jap. while the 30th V is mahogany, korean and some stock dean pick ups... for my preference even with such inferior specs dean wins hands down, an esp fanboy friend still favored the sv slightly but later admitted the dean tone, playability was better.. guess he still preferred sv on paper. oh ya, one more thing to add, the sv owners selling it off to get a dean. Now i didnt manage to do a side by side comparison with an ml, but i did test the 30th v and 79 ml together and i actually thought they were very similiar. so hence my conclusion that a rm3k dean can be equivalent and surpass the above mentioned guitars sorry onli have my h/p cam on me now can't get pics till next week when i get my cam back. heres links to the official website pics 1st though. http://www.deanguitars.com/dean_winter_07/30th_enlargedv.htm 30th anniversary V http://www.deanguitars.com/79MLSelect/79_ML_body.jpg ML'79 http://www.deanguitars.com/dean_winter_06/...ld_enlarged.htm V white gold and some crappy pics ![]() This post has been edited by mesa: Jul 24 2008, 11:55 AM |

gapnap - thanks for the advice man, I never tried a US jackson myself so I'll take your word for it, but then again I'd bet my money on a US dean blademaster - replied via pm |

QUOTE(fatboythin @ Jul 25 2008, 08:46 AM) Mesa, i have to disagree with you. IMO, the Korean Deans are nowhere near the quality, value for money or playability of Jackson and especially the ESP SV. Though, it just might be my preference. Good luck with the dealership thing though. Try bringing in some Schecters too! np:) thats what i keep hearing ..but i too still stand by my opinion Schecters huh, used to love them too, they're thinking bout BC rich though.. |
