watched it, didnt enjoy it
the movie feels like a cash grab, something where people go "hey it seems that old movies are the thing these days, so lets make star wars" then hype it up until people go blind to its flaws its basically a repeat of everything in the first, droid holds some important thing, people hunt for droid on a desert planet with a person that doesnt really belong there. then you have a death star thing, with "nostalgia" moments to make fan bois even giddier in the head the characters are almost like paper cut outs, ren is like this emo kid bad guy that has no reason to go bad, the new sith lord is a bigger joke, like wise finns sudden realisation to do good is a bit kek. the whole premise of the movie is absurd, its like the rebels after winning their hard fought battle of endor, decided to close shop, and let the empire have another chance at them. 6/10 |

Rilex.. there will be epi 8 (2017) & epi 9 (2019). The epi 8 scripts is complete & will resume filming in Jan' 2016.
It shows clearly like what Yoda answered Luke, the darkside is not stronger. So Rey wins over Kylo in getting the lightsaber by using the force. It really that simple... |

8.5/10 for me.
Don't even compare Kylo ren with Lord Vader because He's still Padawan, and lack of training, he will be back with more badass face and saber skill. Everyone can see from his face,he is still a young boy and still not fully into Dark side yet. Big turn off for me in the video is.... PHASMA I mean.... Really...... WTH |

just came back from the movie (if you're wondering I'm in the UK hence the timing)

Overall an entertaining Star Wars movie.

TFA a pure fan service movie whether you in the camp of prequel or the original. Won't say outloud it's the definitive SW sequel I've been waiting. While it hits the nostalgia checklist that hype up the illusion of a great movie, after the adrenaline subside...a lot of "why they do that???" questions pops up. No point nitpicking the plot details when you know that there will be a new SW movie annually from here onwards. The thing I admired the most are those technical aspects of the film making like how meticulous the camera angles were able to be a character on its own. Instances like the camera couldn't keep up with Millenium Falcon during the you know what scene. Actually it felt a lot like what JJ did with Star Trek, the only difference is he's not pretending to make Star Wars under the guise of the Starfleet. TFA is a better movie IMO compare to Trek but it does not have the all things are new factor. Also can't help but disappointed after 20 minutes into it,the new hope story beats being telegraphed literally to the new characters.
To me Furiosa and Max still outclass Finn and Rey for reinvigorating an old franchise. |

A great return to form from Star Wars (just like Pixar did with Inside Out), 9/10 for me, and while i agree that the homage (or blatant copying, however you want to put it) is heavy handed in this, but I don't really care, because they were all well done
