i am thinking of buying a xbox 360 my question is that is gaming with malaysia screamyx on the xbox live good?i mean the connection speed and stuff.cuz i was thinking of getting it for test drive,burnout paradise and dead or alive.
i think i am using the 1mbps package the 88 ringgit 1.btw i live in the jb area very near the customs and i think near pelani and i believe reception is good here

The connection depends on playing with who and which location. If you play with Malaysians and Singaporean, it will be smooth. Other then that, you wil have 2-3 secs of delay or lagg or maybe even more worst.

I'm also having your package so your choice is yours. And Malaysian XBL players are very active.

so do most games on the xbl have options for me to choose to connect with SEA(south east asian)players??

lag, maybe a bit because i'm on 512 and sometimes on live with something is downloading on my computer. but so far u still able to win the race with only 512 connection. burnout paradise, test drive.. everything's good to me.

1st congratulation if u buy Xbox360.....but PS3 is getting hot in market due to online is free....more PS2 game convert in PS3.Games r expanding also.....but as i say Xbox360 still a very good choice compare to 'PC' as pc r getting less and less game due to pirated software everywhere!!! and a gaming PC can stand about 2 years (playing latest game) ,but Xbox360 than 7 years and PS3 stand about 10 years in term of gaming (so good choice console gamer)

Traffic shaping is no longer ISP exclusive. Some routers have this feature like Dlink Gamerlounge series.

just wanted to add something here..why don't you try other network services other than Streamyx? I'm using Izzi and it's kinda fast on most of my XBL games (except GTA4) , but it's a hassle to make it work with my X360 (i'm a bit of a noob in setting up network addresses etc).

I'm curious to know if anybody here uses UMobile/Maxis/Celcom to play XBL..kindly share your experiences?

I suggest you looking for a group of friends playing the games on the forums before you go online (esp malaysians). That's what i did. The players here are pretty active, though I don't really know about Burnout and Test Drive. Most of them play GTA4, Halo3, Gears, COD4.

No matter you're on 512k , 1mb , or even 4mn , for Streamyx it's all the same . In the ends it depends on Streamyx international route , and designated IPs .

i haven bought the 360 yet but still hard to choose between 360 and ps3.i used to game on but recently my graphic card is broken and pc is too pricey to upgrade and u need to upgrade alot
