There is not iphone 3G 4GB at all..only 8GB and 16GB.. Its $199 for 8GB in US if you go under contract for 2 years... Without contract is $599 for 8GB and that is locked... Then to get an unlock model cheapest also in NZ for around RM2800.. So if you buy from ppl or course they wan to untung some la..

Guys, think practically. One way or another, Apple and its telco comrades will receive a good RM2-3k from you in the long run, it's just a matter of how. The $199 price tag which lies below the RM1k mark is only the beginning of 2 years worth of monthly subscription plans. which at the end of the day will accumulate to a sum of no less than RM2-3k, the same price one could ALSO opt to pay to NOT have to be binded to the 2-year telco lock.
TS, bear in mind that the RM3.4k price tag you saw is due to the fact that the iPhones you can acquire locally are parallel import sets, which in other words mean they came in through 3rd parties without actually being brought in locally by an authorized distributor. Hence, the additional costs which include shipping fees, high taxes by the customs as well as SIRIM certification, in terms of the iPhone.
My advice? Don't be surprised that when and IF the iPhone officially arrives here, the acclaimed below-RM1k price tag will also require a 2-3 year contract with a specific telecommunications provider like Maxis, of which the monthly charges will easily surpass your current phone
Bringing it here and selling it for below 1k would certainly require us to be bound contracts. So we pay a significant amount anyway. But the difference is the hardware is officially brought in here so there would be less hassles should they arise. And I think a lot of us are waiting for that
if it's price at more than $199 ...DO NOT BUY IT ... it's a scam ..
agree...
