But for the price you can get other better phones like HTC Touch Diamond and many more..
So is it worth it for the phone??
Can i install 3rd Party applications instead of buying them from itunes??

This might not be the right place to ask that question - most of the people here are biased towards Apple. Also, U'll be surprised to know there are lots of rich people here would can afford the RM3k for the iPhone 3G !

Whether the iPhone 3G is worth its $, only YOU can make that evaluation because only YOU will know what feature/functions U need in a phone

Are you talking bout d 3G or 1st Gen? But i guess you're talking bout that 3G coz you are comparing the price with Touch Diamond.... Hmmmm... lemme see... I dumped my xdaflame for 1st gen iphone and i am satisfied... now thats a testimonial...

Anyway..if i get a 2nd hand iphone 1st gen should i just take the iphone thats already unlocked or do the unlocking myself??

If the price is the same then get the one that's Unlocked. Anyhow, with the latest Firmware 2.0 there should be no problems unlocking the 1st iPhone I think

I shouldn't be commenting too much cause I haven't been following the iPhone since it was launched; it was onli within the last 36 hrs that I learnt the difference between Jailbreak & Unlocking

its not that difficult to unlock.... you need to learn unlocking it anyway for future troubleshooter.... for every restoration need to be unlocked...

Both i play before,HTC & iPhone.
Personally i still prefer iPhone.

One feature i like most is, install whatever you like thru installer/app-store.

As far as 3rd party apps go, Windows Mobile will still reign in terms of variety and the overwhelming options available. But with the 2.0 firmware update now, that's probably gonna change in just a matter of time.

Frankly speaking, the one thing I love about the iPhone more than anything else in the world is the ease of manageability using iTunes and all. I mean, of course, there always ActiveSync for PPCs, but I find iTunes a far more elegant solution to constantly keeping your phone backed up and ready for updates. A biased opinion, perhaps, but most definitely not without reason

I am saving money and raising fund, hope to own an iphone 3G..is it difficult to learn the unlocking? It is kind of launching the unlock software and sync your iphone to it?

for multi-phone-type user.. i just say iphone has its own uniqueness despite the fact that Touch diamond can outwit iphone 3g. among those phones i have used so far, iphone is by far the best interface i ever used.

Diamond wise, i learn that there is some flaw with its touch3d UI and as usual, the firmware problem persist and wait for new firmware update.

but i missed my WinMo PDA... might get a Asus P320 to play around.. since i kindda need a GPS..

No need ma.... you safe your money a lot oledy... grab that aifontriji loh... sell that 1st gen for funding...

Because the main diff is actually the 3G and GPS..both i can actually live without..

Most of us don't have use for that either, mate. Additionally, the brushed aluminum backing is a big plus to me. Plastic, regardless of its benefits as causing less interference to your cellular radios, requires a lot more of cleaning and protection constantly, no matter how sexy it can be

Thing is, it's not gonna be easy to find yourself the 1st Gen now, mate. Even if you do manage to find one, chances are it's gonna be second hand. Apple ran out of stocks for the 1st gen WORLDWIDE approximately 1-2 months prior to the Aifontriji's release, Hence even the eBay sales went into a frenzy with everyone fighting for the last remaining units while they lasted. Still, all the best, mate! Wise choice

jaslyn.. my reason buying aifonej is for collection purpose.. not planning to sell in near future..

i wan winmo coz garmin software and some other things i kindda get used too...

or i might just settle with a N95 8GB.. i wan nice nice camera...

as i got the news yesterday... aifonej's stock is coming in.. whether its new or refurbish i am not too sure...

Well, my dearest 1st Gen Aifonej is also my first Apple product. So, trust me when I speak from experience, the user satisfaction is seriously unlike ANY other IT product I've ever got myself. Somehow, I'm still utterly obsessed and infatuated with it despite having used it for a year now. Not even an RM7k desktop PC has that sorta effect on me

First lesson in getting the iPhone and other parallel imported items in high demand, prices at retail stores like the one you saw in the Digital Mall are 99% of the time = CUTTHROAT. And by that, I mean like an additional RM1k+ compared to the prices you could land yourself in the forums. But of course, if you have the spare cash lying around, I guess it wouldn't hurt

Guys, let's not start getting too much into pricing details and comparing traders in here, it's probably not the best place to be doing so Perhaps PMing the TS on offers and better suggestions would be a better way of helping him without any entanglements with the "law enforcement"

TS, during COD, check the backing of the phone and the box to compare and match the IMEI and serial numbers, to ensure that you're not getting a different phone. Test your SIM card to ensure that the phone and text messaging functions work flawlessly. Test the audio and volume control buttons to make sure that nothing's wrong with the speakers. Aside from that, some minor inspections of the external condition, and you're good to go!

of coz.. test the screen.. wifi.. make sure it is able to receive call and call out too.. vibration testing... camera.. bring a bluetooth handsfree if you have for bluetooth testing...

LOL, I doubt you'd wanna test SO MUCH during a COD. Of course, if you're paranoid or concerned about such details, then yeah, it would be wise to test thoroughly. After all, it's no small investment, right? But yeah, I couldn't imagine someone bringing along all the testing equipment/gear in the world for a 1-hour testing marathon in let's say, McDonalds? The seller would feel rather awkward too....

Also check whether it's iPhone or Hiphone or ChiPhone, well you know lately these China mobile phone manufacturers are really damn great. One of my friend almost con when someone show him a iPhone(Hiphone actually) at Jalan Pasar at an expecting price of RM900 but luckily he called me coz when he "on" the phone...got tingkling sound ler!!!!
