I think when iPhone launches on 22/8, sure stock cepat habis as knowing Singaporean "kiasuism" haha!
As for contract plan, it is definitely a requirement for getting the phone, and so does it should be unlock. One thing unclear is how much to pay if only getting phone without contract??? I think it's not gonna be cheap...

QUOTE(raven268 @ Aug 17 2008, 09:38 PM) For Malaysians that's gonna be expensive: iPhone = FREE Monthly fees = SGD100 Contract period = 24 months Total = SGD2400 Hopefully the above does not reflect the actual plan when the pricing is revealed later this week. One more important thing to consider for fellow Malaysians is must make sure if Singtel says UNLOCK, UNLOCK for all telcos in SG OR UNLOCK for any telcos out of SG as well.....

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Aug 20 2008, 11:40 AM) Japanese carriers uses W-Sim which are not compatible at all with any other phones around the world other than their own. Which is the reason why we dont see phones from KDDI, or NTT DoCoMo outside of Japan. On a somewhat related news, Vodafone India is selling their iPhones at these prices:- 8GB - 31000Rps 16GB - 36100Rps http://www.macworld.com/article/135099/200...l?lsrc=rss_mainI'm not sure if the news translate to a non-contract or not, nor do we know its unlock/locked status. Hmm..if India is unlock to all telcos then it woud be a good buy!

QUOTE(Shoki @ Aug 23 2008, 01:05 AM) So anyone calculated the cheapest cost for iPhone 3g, including $800 SGD for termination?? I suppose is iTwo Plus : 3 month subscription = $82.93 X 3 = $248.79 Cost of iPhone 3g 16gb = $208 Early termination fees = $800 Grand total = $1256.79 Is this the price? Please correct me.. Shoki, U might need to check with Singtel if you early termination of contract, do u need to pay the REST of the monthly subscription of the contract or just the 3 months subscription? As for SGD800, that one is pasti kena as a penalty.

QUOTE(dawn152 @ Aug 27 2008, 11:25 AM) is there a definite way to ensure it's iphone 3g singapore? like checking the imei starting with some particular no. etc.... Print out the list from: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937Bring it along when you are buying your iPhones from those non singtel shops in sim lim or any other place in SG..just make sure the part number shown at the box matches wth SG, which is : MB489ZA/A MB496ZA/A MB500ZA/A And to be safe, switch on the phone and check under SETTINGS | GENERAL | ABOUT as well. With this you are confirming buying an OFFICIAL UNLOCK set from SINGAPORE. Happy iPhone shopping

QUOTE(dawn152 @ Aug 27 2008, 01:41 PM) thank you . now that there's a definite way to identify the phones, might be thinking of getting one from sg. about the yellowish screen, do you know which batch has that problem? i read somewhere that batch 888xxxx has problems, and the one after that should be ok? or did i get that wrong? If i am not wrong, all iPhone 3g screen is "warmer" in terms of color tone comparing wth 1st gen iPhone. This is a fact and acknowledged by Apple: http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/07...deliberate.htmlSo no worry and enjoy your iPhone 3G
