today i did a little experiment with the NZ iphone. a customer came in to port his telecom number to voda, and his Telecom phone is the new kind, with gsm simcard. took the simcard out of his phone, put into the iphone and voila, "INVALID SIM". So had to activate the iphone with prepay sim

i guess it is "locked" after all, hehehe i wonder if singtel will follow suit, locally locked it so other network in SG cant use it.

you reckon? i didnt try it in other phones though.

didnt know japanese sim wont work in foreign phones! i sold like tonnes of phones to japanese customers and i told them they can go back to japan and use the local sim there! they must be cursing me right now

yeah, that stupid tick in New Zealand is gone! Worry be gone (not that im worried in the first place)
