why run both? just migrate to Vista and be done with. if you ever need to run windows xp, you can use a virtual machine like Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/virtualpc/default.mspx), which is free.

anyway, this is what i do

If your doing "virtualisation", there will be a sacrifice for performance as the computer will have to maintain/run/power dual OSes running simultaneously, anyway I'll let "FarCry3r", do the rest of the talking, he's the best in the "virtualisation" field.

i agree. for instance, don't expect to run a kick ass game when running windows xp virtually. i just use it to test stuff and install apps that don't agree with vista.

May I know what software do you use to virtualise it? I prefer Parallels Workstation over VMWare, how about you?

I would use Paralllels if I was using a Mac, but VMWare gets my vote for the PC.
