You are not comparing apples to apples.

If you eat in a decent Indian restaurant in the UK, it costs twice as much than here too. Try eating in Gordom Ramsay's for dinner.  Lunch is obviously cheaper as people in Europe generally have light lunches (sandwiches / salad / soup meals).

Additionally, it is obvious that western/continental cuisine in western/continental Europe will cost cheaper than in Asia.  This is due to prices of ingredients which can be sourced locally/regionally.
*
Lunch menu at Maze, St John, Hinds Head in London are proper and not light.

For similar menu and rating, find restaurant price in KL is more expensive than Europe, Australia and U.S.A.

Bombay Palace (Indian), Li Yen (Chinese), Bijan (Malay), Nero Vivo (Neo-Italian), Ciao (Italian)... One need only do a little research.

Obviously things would be more expensive if you had imported products (i.e. French/Italian produce).  It boils down to supply chain.
*
Rental, labour cost are cheaper in KL. For fine dining, food cost is less than 30% of price.

Find MIGF menu is a rip off, better to save for lunch or dinner at the Quay.

Going to UK & Paris next week for brother's wedding, made a few reservations at 2- and 3-starred (lunch lol, dinner too expensive) joints there. Gonna see how they compare to our Cilantro and Sage icon_idea.gif ... considered doing the Tastings menu at The Fat Duck but gbp200+ a little steep plus they are fully booked for months anyway.
*
If you can't book The Fat Duck, 'Dinner by Heston Blumenthal' at Mandarin Oriental is an alternative else there is always 'Hinds Head'. Several of Gordon Ramsay restaurants lunch menu is value for money.

Well, it still depends on how you see it.

If you're looking for fine dining. You're paying for the environment and the quality of the foods.

If that's rip off to you, pasar malam also got alot of nice foods.
*
The Quay is one of the top 50 restaurants in the world and their menu especially lunch is value for money if compare with MIGF.

yes that may be top restoran in the world but its not really vlaue for money for me to take a flight there from malaysia to have a meal. u may afford it, most cant. why are u even comparing this to migf?
*
If one purchases LV, Dior or Hermes handbag in Paris, should s/he include air ticket and hotel price to the handbag price?

Find most restaurants charge exorbitant price for MIGF menu, better to save for Michelin star eatery or Top 50 restaurants of the world.

Oh, as i said, as are most ppl in my country of malaysia, we cant just fly off to paris for a meal.
*
Given fine dining in Malaysia is not cheap, believe those who patronize fine dining regularly in Malaysia, most could afford and do travel regularly.

Why none of Malaysia's restaurant is listed in Asia's 50 best restaurants 2013? Even Vietnam and Sri Lanka scored one each.
