Here is a website giving u a piano for u to pitch, press the piano key, and sing out the note.
Try to get the highest note(no cheating), using full voice, not falsetto guys or opera stlye singing.

START FROM MIDDLE C AND SING UR WAY UP
FOLLOW THIS FORMAT
EG:
OCTAVE // NOTE NAME
TWO LINE G2

(im asking u guys to follow this format, cause difrent ppl diffrent pitch, diffrent tuner, some type all kinds of C5, B6 or diffrent style which will confuse us all)

ok, i wil start first, my range is
TWO LINE G2

cry.gif cry.gif I Want HIT HIGH HIGH NOTE! ARH cry.gif
all i can sing is greenday and simple plan songs=.="
i want hit high notes so i can sing those, high school musical, disneys, Good charlotte, westlife, nikelback, daughtry!
My dream is to be able to sing all-american reject,Justin timberlake, maroon 5,fall out boys songs thumbup.gif

C4=Middle C
C5=1 octave higher than middle C
C6=2 octave higher than middle C

1 line C1=middle C
2 line C2=1 octave higher than middle C
3 line C3=2 octave higher than middle C

just to clear confusion

Oh well, wahts ur vocal range? come take the test!
http://www.music.vt.edu/musicdictionary/ap...itch/pitch.html

P/S: (anybody who wants a tuner for ur singing, download this Tuner, so u can sing infront of PC, singing along ur song, but can check whether u singing in tune with the tuner, cause TUNER on the pc detects faster than normal tuner, can use for tuning guitar also whistling.gif and is Free)

are you sure that you stretch fromm D to G, which is 4 tones. People takes a year to improve their range by 1 or 2 keys...

I think something wrong with the tuner, or my mic. Even my middle C it told me it's B flat, I point my mic to the piano middle C and it shows B flat too...

I am not sure whether this is the right way to determine your range actually, usually when we do warm up of voicing in class, we do in major triads, something like CEGEC then keep increasing by a semitone.

Usually i comfortably singing til G 1 octave higher from middle. I never really try to determine how high i can go
*
nay, i can sing high, im from yamaha musics chool, they teach us singing ma, just i never strech, usually i sing D5, dont like to go higher.
I from young kena train singing in yamaha musci course laugh.gif

I've check, yes, i sing G5 ^^
( actually i can hit E5 and F5 liao but i dont use it often)

P/s: maybe ur piano out of tune?
ADDED: i sing in major triads, and i hit G5 nod.gif
now testing G#!

haha, i used a whislte voice, but then whistle voice is actually part of my voice, and falsetto too, just that falsetto has a leak in air and therefore it's so airy. so in your definition, is vitas using his real voice singing in opera 2?
*
im not sure bout that, but if want determine how high, i prefer use modal voice.
Cause using falsetto or whistle, can go up until G6-G7, and not many can control falsetto and whistle, and assume that their "High pitch scream" is their falsetto nod.gif

Anyway, alot of singer use modal voice ma, eg linkin park, simple plan, all american reject, they only use falseto in some part and not throughout the whole song

Range : Bb(2 semitone before Middle C) - Bb (2 Octave higher)

my modal voice ranges from d to a2, but i'm not a singer at all. So i guess that is an average guy vocal range. With my guitar though, i can whail ! biggrin.gif

i think the good way to do this test is by starting from the middle "c" and go upwards. Because if one is starting at c3 directly, there might be a confusion between the piano octave and the octave you're actually singing in.
*
well, starting from mid C is the best way( I guess i forgot to state that whistling.gif )

D to A2?

So ur A2= ---

a2 is 880Hz, so on the guitar, it is indeed the 5th fret of the first string. so by training my voice, i could reach up to one octave higher ? that's amazing. Higher than a2 and i fell my throat is painfully clenching.

Namqul, middle c is 261.63 Hz.

Added on July 27, 2008, 5:54 pmmy wife (which is a female biggrin.gif ) can reach up to c3 (1046Hz), but she is 100% tone deaf. Not easy to match her screaming onto the keyboard biggrin.gif
*
wah, A2 veri GENG ALREADY U KNOW!

I think man usually can sing highest is C3. more than that is either u using falsettto, or u have amazingly high rare voice.

girls can pass C3 laugh.gif

LOL, screaming XD
usually girls use fake voice thats why they can sing high, i test girls to use real voice, cant pass D2 lULZ

adfter hearing the song, i understand waht you mean

He use a singing way call FALSETTO(Google it)
brief sumary-falsetto is a fake voice use by male to sing high, but it has less dynamics compare to modal voice
Eg:justin timberlake uses alot of falsetto

Modal voice=daunghtry/nickelback uses more modal voice

modal voice= MORE OHM
falsetto= sounds very high, thin voice, airy

vocal range= range: D#4-A5 for the song the reason

i think i know what falsetto is. but im quite sure that is not falsetto his using. falsetto is easier to control the volume since we do not have to sing loud to hit the note. not for modal voice, which in this case, have to have higher volume to hit the note.

well, anyway, i think i can hit that note using normal voice. but wont be able to sustain that long most of the time. lol~
*
i dont mean the whole song thou
just some part he use falsetto

i'm not sure i agree with this guy.. or we're not talking about the same thing. it's really weird.
the middle C as provided on the piano, and according to its frequency, is located on 5th string, 3rd fret.

i don't see why there would be 2 different middle C's. Middle C = 261Hz to be perfectly clear. The point here is to match the notes of this piano with the notes of the guitar. So we must first agree on the name of the notes smile.gif

aiyo, headache for nothing...

rclxub.gif
*
diffrent instrument= diffrent frequency.

violin frequency sound an octave higher.

'nuff said.
