Nope. After the 10-day trial, you'll need to buy a CD-Key first. That key will be used to activate your account. The CD-Key comes with a 30-days gametime.
Only after CD-key has been used to activate your acount, you can then use the 60 days prepaid card.
Added on July 21, 2008, 1:53 pmEDIT : the CD-Key is lock to your game account and not for game installation.

Yes, I can personally confirm that you can get the files from anywhere you want but you need to have a valid CD-Key to play after the 10 days trials.
I downloaded the wow installation files after a problem with my cd (from Blizzard's official website, not a warez) but copying it from someone's else computer works also, done it before as well.
What identify your account is the CD-Key and the online account linked to it, files on the computer are not important at all.

Also one thing about creating a game account. You still need a credit card to help verify the account holder details. Note that this is only for verifcation and the card itself will not be billed.

TBH, I'm not sure. It was something that happened to someone here in LYN and that they had to borrow their parent's card to start the account.
I dunno if they have since change the rules though. Try it out and see if anything strange pops up.

i get the feeling it depends on whether u're using the 10day free online trial or the guest pass or just buying the game straight and loading without the trial period.

I thought if you buy the game box you don't need credit card? Since you get the CD-Key from the box and now we have prepaid card in the market, not like credit card is needed in any of the process.

same here. no credit card details whatsoever. As long as you get the game time card. In addition if u activate your game account on the same day u get your trial.
Trial accounts are a pain since u can't trade with other ppl, can't join guilds and is a real embarassment when u go for instances and ur pug members found out that ur on trial since if u accidentally loot something BoE that is better off with someone else, you can't give it back cos u can't trade. You can't sign guild charters, can't whisper.
Best part is the ten free days trial are considered as a full account game time once u make a full account! the ten days free trial is added on top of your game time. So 30 days free bonus for starter pack plus 60 days game time card plus 10 days free trial = 100 days.

I remember my pre BC box comes with 2 months free play.

Battlechest has both the WoW Starter Pack + TBC expansion pack. Install both. They have separate keys.
Good to know that CC is no longer needed. I remembered about 6 months ago, ppl were whining about it.

in my experience there are 2 answers: 1. if u upgrade from 10-day trial account u have the option to pay using game card(like me) 2. if u upgrade from trial that was sent by a friend (recruit a friend) u need to have a credit card to be able to upgrade to full account ( i can confirm this coz i helped a friend into wow and when upgrading he had to deal with the whole credit card thing )
hope this helps somewhat
Edit: btw no.2 was in november 2007 so im not sure if its still the same

Lemme get this straight Once you start the TRIAL there is no other way you can continue your account other than buying the ORIGINAL game and activating it with the key granting you an ACTUAL account along with the 30 days playtime. E.G. If you start from TRIAL you CANNOT use a game card to activate your account unlike Eve Online.
