I've downloaded some movie torrents and some of them are .rmvb files, and I can't play them as I have no .rmvb file player. So I Google-d and I found that VLC player is suitable for this type of file, so I downloaded it straight away. However, the movies still can't be played. So my questions are:

1. Is there any problem with my VLC player? Can it really play .rmvb files or I am the one who misunderstood? (heh)
2. I found that there are several other player which could play .rmvb files, but all of them need to be paid for full version, while the free version is for limited time only. So if you know any free .rmvb file player, please please tell me the name of the player.

Download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack here;

http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm

install it then u can play the rmvb file using the media player classic included in the pack. or u can use any existing player that u have. ( i can use my BS player to play rm/rmvb files after installing the codec)

haha in case you still need another alternative i'd recommend The KMPlayer. it's working great for me. has built in codec library so no need to install many codecs. works wonders with all my real media files

Storm also is a solution. biggrin.gif

p/s : Some .rmvb file unable to open because of the file name or directory folder, try rename it to character(a,b,c..z..0)

Klite mega codec pack as served me well so no thank you. All codec packs do nearly the samething, just that stormcodec is popular with the chinese. Also its deisgned to be more integrated with real media files, donno why chinese encoders love that crappy format.

Too bad my company many of the fella like to install this software on the laptops.
